I like the 2009 plus cars, it was the pre 2008 aero going crazy regs with flick ups on every flat surface I thought was really ugly.

This one? Well at least if there's a race under snowy conditions they can send the Caterham out to clear the track!

It be not be attractive but I'm happy at having unconventional looking cars.

Isn´t that a bit what people said at the beginning of 2009? Nobody (well, almost no-one) liked it then either.

I still don't like them, wings are not in the right proportion to the car. And this nose makes them even more horrible.

I was on about 2009 aero regs specifically. Sorry, should have made that clearer. I still don't like the wings on the cars. I'm used to them, but long for properly proportioned wings again.

I already hated the the goofy wing proportions on the past few years of F1 cars. But man oh man. That is one UGLY race car. Way to make the new IndyCar crapwagons look decent...

Ugly car! :yuk:

FIA should ban wind tunnels cause engineers come up with so many weird ideas...anyway, F1 is a stage for experiments...there're lot of money involved and high are the expectations for success...beauty is the last thing they're thinking about when the purpose is to gain performance at any cost, so in some ways I don't see why to condemn but, I hope it's a fail solution.

Grow up peepz, it's the racing not the nose cones you need to love.

I just hope I learn to like it over time because it sounds like there will be quite a few teams running this design.

John Booth's only mistake was to entrust the design of the car to Wirthless' CFD alone.

Thats probably hindsight talking. Wirth has proven it worked with the Honda ALMS car. Yes F1 is more complicated but the system works.
If Virgin beat Lotus and HRT both season's we'd be praising Wirth.

There was a lot of consensus that while the CFD-only approach was a good idea in terms of saving money, the complete lack of windtunnel time would mean that any and all design glitches would not get ironed out. And so it came to pass.

The VR02 was indeed such a poor car that Symonds scrapped it and started fresh.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I'm with RtN on this. Symonds said that the VR02 was a good car but suffered from fundemental aero flaws.

Admiring here Caterham's rare "beauty", got the conclusion it looks like an insect!

I don't find it too ugly. We'll all get used to it.
