And so it comes down to this. After another exciting season, the era of Jimmie Johnson dominance has come to an end (for now). Instead, a fresh face will take the champion's podium in the Sprint Cup Series. The stage is set between Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart. One is seeking his first championship, where he could join Matt Kenseth and Benny Parsons in winning the title with only one win. The other seeks his third championship, and the first for an owner/driver since Alan Kulwicki in 1992. Carl leads by just 3 points (or 3 positions on the track).

Stewart vs Edwards. Smoke vs Earl. The Whopper vs The Horse. Let's get it on.

Sprint Cup: Ford 400 – Sunday @ 3pm ET on ESPN
Nationwide: Ford 300 – Saturday @ 4:30pm ET on ESPN2
Trucks: Ford 200 – Friday @ 8pm ET on SPEED

if they finish one two with ton e winning and leading the most laps, it would be a tie.

BTW the tiebreaker will be most wins that season. Tony would win in that case.

Not sure who I want to win.

TON. E. is probably more deserving, but Earl winning would show the Chase up for the crock of shit it is, so I don't know.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I'm on the same boat as you. As much as I hate Earl, I don't mind him winning the Cup. Just to prove that the Chase sucks ass.

Almost like wishing Jimmie Johnson winning the 2009 campaign one race early.

If Carl does win it wouldn't be the first time that the championship winner's only win was at Las Vegas

No, he wouldn't even be the first Roush driver to do that.

That's really going to take some work. No sport has stats as retarded as baseball.

That might actually mean something if they had been racing at Vegas prior to '98. With just 13 or so races there, who cares?

Remember, If Carl wins the championship, this had happened before. Nevermind that LVMS isn't really that prestigious of a track apart from where it's located (I mean, it IS Las Vegas, after all).

It would be funny if they both finished 42nd and 43rd.

What, when Edwards goes into roid rage mode on lap one and takes them both out?

No it wouldn't!

Tony wins + leads most laps = 48 points

Carl 2nd = 42 (or 43 if he leads a lap)

Thats a 5 or 6 point swing.
