Karthikeyan, Perez and Massa. A great car had concealed his crap talents for years but now it's finally showing.

Liuzzi, d'Ambrosio, Karthikeyan.

Which funny man voted for Vettel?

Perez? But he's owned Kobayashi for much of the season

To me Massa hasn't been the same since his accident.

Anyway, there are so many drivers that are much more worthy of being called the best in the world. There's no real car control in F1 today, just "F1 car control". I want to see all current F1 drivers in the Gold Coast 600 next year (lol). V8 Supercars are as close to a perfect race car formula you can get in my opinion today (The original Can-Am was the best ever). There we are talking car control.

Liuzzi, Narain and d'Ambrosio for me. None of them have shown to be worth the drives at any point this year and are only there purely through money.

Van de Garde and Wickens had more money than D'Ambrosio. So if Virgin had gone only for the money, one of those 2 would be in that car this year.

Liuzzi and Narain have been in better cars were they also did not shine, so I agree over them. But D'Ambrosio has not had a fair chance to prove anything. His races have been rather good though, almost always finishing and regularly beating glock and the HRT's.

wut

Yeah those V8s are wild, unmanageable beasts, but the corners don't fire up your face quite as fast as in an F1. Cornering and braking forces in action are not the same also. All that car control you actually see on TV while watching V8s? The F1 drivers probably do exactly the same at a significantly faster rate.
A lot of very talented drivers can win/dominate in many series (even top openwheelers), but history has proved that only the absolutely exceptional will ever be able to understand and get an F1 car up to WC-winning speed.

IMO, the only driver who has nothing to do in Formula 1 is Narain Karthikeyan.
Not a bad driver, but a lot are better.

I voted Petrov, Karthikeyan, d'Ambrosio, Chandhok. Drivers who I don't think would have been in F1 at all if it wasn't for their money.

there should be a race some day where every driver gets the same car, with no engineer nor any team.
They should be able to customize a setup, but nothing else.
But I think even then some driver would have an advantage or more luck.
But we will never know who is the best or worst driver, we can just guess.

The best indicator of a great driver is how they perform in sub-par machinery. It's all very well Sebastian Vettel going and taking 15 poles, 11 wins and a second title at the age of 24, as well as dominating his team mate, yet people will continue to say it's the car, he's being favoured at the team etc etc.

We've seen Vettel work wonders in 2007 and 2008 when he was a rookie and then inexperienced. You look at other drivers too - Jenson Button in some of those shitty Hondas was very good as well, except for his 2001 malaise. Ditto with Fernando Alonso in practically every car he's ever driven (especially the 2001 Minardi), perhaps bar early 2004 when Trulli outperformed him, and Lewis Hamilton in 2009.

I can see your point, of course you're right.
But we'll never see if actually a Nico Rosberg is better than a Sebastian Vettel if they don't drive in the same team with the same opportunities and the same material given.
I'd like to see something like this, and neither in F1 nor in GP2 this opportunities are given.
But for me F1 is a teamsport, the drivers are important, but the team as well.
The strongest combination of a driver (not has to be the 2 drivers) and a team wins (In case 2011 Vettel-Red Bull).

But that's not the topic.
Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel are the only drivers who showed that they can win even with bad material.
I don't know if Schumacher belongs there as well because I'm just watching F1 since 2000.
My respect belongs to them.

Apparently, if you look at this post, the best four drivers are: Button, Di Resta, Kobayashi and Kovalainen (All 0 votes)!

They don't have hate-boys is why. As opposed to Schumacher, Alonso or Hamilton who got votes.

How did Glock disappoint you in that heap of shit commonly referred to as the Virgin?

Button used to have loads.

Plus someone has now voted for him.

He hasn't shined at all like he should have, and obviously you compare by team-mates when you are in those 3 new teams. It's a virgin so it isn't as noticed as much but i pay a lot of attention to those at the back and to me he has been very disappointing. First half of the season he was pretty good and was beating Jerome because he was a rookie and all that which comes with it. Once past half way I felt Jerome almost had the better of him already if he took out his rookie mistakes, and by right at the end of the season was clearly the better performing driver in my view. No doubt Glock is better than this and I really think it's only down to motivation as I think hes missing being in a decent car, and then rumours floating around about him possibly leaving kinda proved that to me. Hes in a shitbox car so I think hes just kinda floating around until he gets something decent and he feels hungry again so I have no doubt he can bounce back but this season was terrible in my view how he just dropped. I also didn't expect Jerome to deliver some of the results he got so good on him for doing that.

I also feel Jerome deserves another chance, he could become a handy driver if he gets in a decent car.
