TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Crew chiefs of two Michael Waltrip Racing teams and one affiliated program are facing penalties after NASCAR confiscated the front windshields from all three vehicles on Friday.

The front windshields from David Reutimann's No. 00 car, Martin Truex Jr.'s No. 56 car, and Bobby Labonte's No. 47 car were all taken after they were found to have unapproved modifications, NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said. The violations were discovered in opening inspection at Talladega Superspeedway, site of Sunday's Sprint Cup event.

MWR fields the cars of Reutimann and Truex, and also builds the cars for Labonte, whose vehicle is owned by JTG Daugherty Racing. All three vehicles are Toyotas. Additional penalties for the infractions are expected early next week, Tharp said.

Wonder what they did to the windshields. MWR, if you're gonna cheat, and still run like shit, you're doing it wrong. Wonder how long it'll be before Clint regrets joining them.

Good Halloween idea, this logo provides.

And the few drivers in Gold Coast aren't the only ones remembering Dan Wheldon by the special visors:

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Ford wants Ford drivers to draft with Ford only?: #14-Tony Stewart [Chevy] likely will have a new drafting partner Sunday with this two-car tandem. Stewart has worked with #34-David Gilliland [Ford] in the past but didn't get to practice with him Friday. Stewart said: "I've kind of heard the Ford guys are kind of being told they have to stay with Ford guys.'' & Stewart drafted with #47-Bobby Labonte [Toyota] in the first practice and with #51-Landon Cassill [Chevy] in the second practice session.

It's not like a Toyota pushed Gilliland to a 3rd in the Daytona 500 or anything.

That'll work for like the majority of the race, then during the last 5 laps/the GWC its pretty much every man for himself and there's not really time to play a team game.

I'd hope so anyways, but listening to David Ragan just now during qualifying, I think he made it very clear that team orders are in affect for RFR at least to help Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth specifically.

I'd laugh if Ragan or Biffle accidentally took out the 99 or 17 doing that.

Just what Dega needs.

If the two car tandam is making you worried the race will be boring, DON'T FEAR, the new prospect of it bringing team orders into the plate racing will surely make things a a lot more exciting!!!

I imagine today's truck racing being something like the cup race this time last year. The majority of the field running in a pack with a few trucks breaking away every now and then but not being able to go for more than maybe a few laps before falling back into the pack. I can't possibly see them doing it to the extent of the Cup or Nationwide cars without wrecking.

How Come Robby Gordon doesn't start last and Casey Mears does?

Gordon is the last go or go home care to time in so shouldn't he start 43rd?

Trying to figure this out for my lottery pool, doesn't make much sense to me.
