Glad to see Penske trying to keep him within the team and (hopefully) get him back in the series.

No kits in 2013, but find this interesting.

That's why we had so many cars at the end of last year. The cheap ass costs of running the old Dallara.

Seriously shouldn't go that way. Rather have lesser teams and more quality teams.

As discussed on MWM, the problem is the current car is more expensive than what was promised, and it's due to IndyCars contract, not Dallaras. I think the teams have a right to be upset about that.

I'm sorry but that's ridiculous and elitist view. I hate that belief, it's the same as some have in F1 saying the three new teams shouldn't be there. There should always be the little guys in every form of motorsport, even at the very top levels.

You've also got to remember how these big "quality" teams got to be where they are today, and that's from starting out as a small team... ;) Let's also point out that there's always a chance these big "quality" teams will fall by the wayside, either by withdrawing to concentrate elsewhere (Andretti for instance, potentially going to NASCAR) or losing sponsorship dollars and being unable to compete at all (Rahal Letterman Racing). So if that happens and there are no small teams on the grid how is the sport supposed to survive?

Rant over.

I don't understand why they can't just offer the new kits and just not make it mandatory.

It's not like the series isn't dominated by the Penske's/Ganassi's etc already, them having the new aerokits and the cars at the back not wouldn't change tooooo much.

A bit like KERS in F1, the little teams don't have it but even when they finally show up with it, it doesn't change the running order.

Nobody will offer an aero kit because it's a financial black hole at the moment. Limiting it to the standard kit simply hides that fact.

just to add my 2 cents most people (me as well) have all been complaining at the lack of cars and how spread out the indylights races are. proves 2 things. 1 that less cars is definitely not always better and 2 that just because there is fewer cars doesnt mean that they will all be top notch teams.

Less cars does not a good race make. Definitely look at the state of the FIL. 11 cars with racing about as dull as an average DTM race.

Robin Miller seems pretty certain Indycar's racing at Pocono next year, He mentioned it during the NBC Fontana broadcast & again on Wind Tunnel last night.

That would be fantastic. I'd love to see how the modern cars go around there. Big tows down the front straight. :)

I can't go back far enough on my timeline on twitter to find out which one but according to a few motorsport twitter accounts one of the street races is going to announce cancellation of their event next year...

Might be Edmonton I guess....there were rumours about that race not doing too well weren't there?

*Edit* Found it, Indy44 just tweeted again on Twitter:

http://www.globaltvedmonton.com/sports/ ... story.html

That both sucks and blows :(

That really sucks.

This year's was a really good race. With a great turn out, also.
