I knew they had signed a long contract, but I didn't think it was that long.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I don't know if any of you saw the interview they had with Randy Bernard before the Iowa race? Robin Miller asked him about the whole situation with finding a replacement for China and Randy basically said that if the race wasn't going to be on the calander for years to come it wasn't really going to be worth it because there isn't much time to organise things, so there isn't much point rushing and potentially making a hash job of it all, the general feeling he gave was that sponsors and teams were supporting the decision to not have a 16th race and do it properly in 2013.

If his decision was based on the notion that they don't want to rush a race at Road America this year because it'll damage its chances of being on the calender for 2013 and beyond, I can understand.

If they continue playing hardball with each other and not have the race on the calander next year, I'll be pretty pissed.

I'm ok with it. Especially if I get to go to the Fontana race.

We've all been requesting this for a few years already. Now we're finally seeing some progress. Maybe it will be reality for 2013 or 2014? That would be good step forwards for the series.

Hell, why not a grand slam of 500s? Have all four of them in there.

With you on that. Why have just three when you can have four.

4 would be better... Then get a sponsor to put up the cash ($1,000,000) to anyone who can win 3 of the 4.

Damn you worthless government. Why did you have to ban tobacco advertising? They have deep pockets and want to peddle their merciless death product at the races.

It's good to see that something proactive is being done about it, wasn't it Indycars that came up with the safer barrier as well? despite NASCAR doing their best to make it out they did.

IndyCar funded the development of the SAFER Barrier yeah. It a university that actually created it.

Push to Pass is back from Toronto:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100752

Don't really think it's needed as the racing has been fantastic without it.

At least its not as bad as a certain other passing aid :p

I'm actually kind of disappointed they're bringing it back. It's always felt too artificial to me, and pretty unnecessary when the cars are actually capable of passing on their own. I didn't mind the system from the late 90s in CART when teams put an "overtake" button on the car that wasn't limited by the series. It merely let the engine run at 100% fuel mixture and I believe maybe even upped the rev limiter. Basically you risked engine damage and overusing fuel by hitting the button.

Toronto doesn't need it either, Turn 3 will be just as spectacular (read: many Lol's, probably from Ed Carpenter) with or without it. ;)

Also not happy about the Push to Pass because of the way they've gone about it.

Instead of giving them 10 extra horsepower, or whatever, they've lowered the current boost level by ten horsepower and then allowed the P2P to bring it back up to the pre-Toronto level temporarily...

Should've been the other way round, imo.

Also, good luck Lotus with this!
