Randy Bernard would like to have 19-20 races on the 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series calendar and, judging by the interest, it should be an easy number to reach.

With a return to Houston in 2013 ready to be confirmed on Wednesday, representatives from Austin, Palm Springs, Pocono, Fort Lauderdale, Richmond, Phoenix, Portland and Elkhart Lake have either met with INDYCAR’s CEO or made it known they’d like to discuss the future.

There have also been rumblings that Chicago might want to put on a street race by Lake Michigan and Australia desires bringing back Indy cars with Power, Dixon and Briscoe.

All of those tracks sound good to me. If we can get Cleveland and Laguna Seca it will be the best schedule in years

Pocono, Portland and Elkhart Lake :)

Cleveland will never happen if what I've heard about the organisers and mayor are true.

Not having Road America is an abomination, imo. Cleveland would be utopia right now...

You know how Barber Motorsports Park is home to all kinds of weird art projects? Well, uh...

It's not a permanent addition, it's just here for the race fans. Because... that's what open-wheel/sports-car fans want.

In the position she's sitting, it sure will....

Just need to add a fountain between the legs, and it'll be done.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

According to my IndyCar Mobile App, if Graham Rahal wins Sunday, he's going to jump in the lake and kiss the lady. :)

Yes, a proper road course instead of a street course or even the more club / motorcycle circuit type tracks (no offense to those who enjoy Laguna Seca or Barber). There are none of that sort on this year's schedule. I think I remember even Portland being pretty good. I'll even take Circuit of the Americas, Tilkedrome notwithstanding. :p

Phoenix and Pocono (if safe) would also be nice to bring back. Not sure I like Richmond so much...

Palm Springs would be this course I think: http://www.thermal122.com/track/ -- designed by the same guy that did Barber. Hmm.

I've also heard rumors of Mexico City being under consideration, Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez perhaps?

Well I was hoping they weren't going to return to Reliant Park for Houston. Hopefully the layout won't be identical...the track wasn't very good for racing. The Houston track from 1998 was much better!

Curt Cavin: Indy may or may not have 33 cars. Randy Bernard: expects 34 cars will attempt to qualify.

The teams have received the new bodywork for tomorrow's Indy test. Some pretty good pics on the official site, but I've collected a few from Twitter:

I assume the red things are dummy camera pods, not taillights.

I like how there seems to be a line rising from the bargeboards to the sidepod humps and back to the fins.

it's goofy looking but at least it follows the line of the sidepod.

they really should just attach the rear wing element to it though...

Wow in the last pic the car looks freaking awesome. They have made some great adjustments to the car, now it looks great in both configurations.

What would make it look fantastic is if they had Reynard-ish front wings. You know, tilted, with only very small winglets. I love how the rear wing looks right now. Especially with the Batman symbol!
