Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Was having sneak peak on twitter and all IndyCar teams are receiving their IndyCar 2012 DW chassis....they're reacting to it like they were receiving a christmas gift. You know a kid when gets a new toy? Yeah, almost like that. I wanna see those cars on track as soon as possible.

Autoweek: 2012 IndyCar schedule takes shape

Quote:
IndyCar is due to release its 2012 schedule at any moment. An event at Texas Motor Speedway--perhaps two separate races--is the last remaining piece to the puzzle. Track president Eddie Gossage said a contract signing isn't imminent, but the parameters of it might be. IndyCar needs 16 races to fulfill its contract with IZOD. IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard said the schedule will meet that number, but barring a surprise announcement it will take two events at Texas to get there. http://www.autoweek.com/article/2011121 ... z1h2Il2S2i

Schedule:

March 25: St. Petersburg, Fla. (street circuit)

April 1: Barber Motorsports Park (permanent road course)

April 15: Long Beach, Calif. (street circuit)

April 29: Sao Paulo, Brazil (street circuit)

May 27: Indianapolis Motor Speedway (oval)

June 3: Detroit (street circuit)

June 9: Texas Motor Speedway (oval)

June 23: Iowa Speedway (oval)

July 8: Toronto (street circuit)

July 22: Edmonton (street circuit)

Aug. 5: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (permanent road course)

Aug. 19: Qingdao, China (street circuit)

Aug. 26: Infineon Raceway (permanent road course)

Sept. 2: Baltimore (street circuit)

Sept. 15: Auto Club Speedway (oval)

Amazing.... :8:

Show this schedule to a hardcore IRL or Champcar fan from 5 or 6 years ago and they'd both be equally be pissed off.

The Champcar fan will scream where's my Road America, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Laguna Seca and whatnot...

The IRL fan will scream about the lack of ovals.....

I know with the new car and everything this is a transitional year, but wow...

Yeah it's a pretty crap schedule, you'd have thought they'd learn from history though.

Even though the Baltimore GP is on the schedule. No one really knows if the race will continue. Given that promoter owes $12 million. http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2011-1 ... other-city

Rumor has it... Randy Bernard is contemplating holding a race on the Indy Road Course as a last resort.

All he last years were transitional years. First the years after "unification", than the trasition from Tony to Randy, now the transition to the new car...
Transition to what?!?

It takes a special level of incompetance to make a schedule this terrible. America is possibly the greatest country in the world overall for tracks. Sure, it doesn't have the best like Spa, Suzuka and the Ring, but it has an amazing amount of great race tracks. To make a bad schedule in America takes effort. A special kind of effort. A kind of effort that only IndyCar could come up with.

^ that's what I mean, this is exactly the same route ChampCar went down, and we all know what the incompetent management team achieved there.

Now this more seems like it. In CCWS's final years, they went out of their way to explore never-before visited circuits in other parts of the world...

It's ridiculous that New Hampshire was given up after just one year...

Low attendance and weather didn't help things one bit.

It makes me so mad, that tracks like Laguna, Road America, Cleveland are nowhere to be seen, and I have little hope of them getting back soon. :(
