Jimmie Jesus surges within 4 points of the lead. Charlotte is one of his best tracks. Jimmie haters are now on suicide watch.

Trucks head to Vegas, while Ty Dillon only needs to start the race to lock up the ARCA title in the season finale at Toledo.

Sprint Cup: National 500 - Saturday @ 7:30pm ET on ABC
Nationwide: Dollar General 300 - Friday @ 7:30pm ET on ESPN2

Trucks: Smith's 350 - Saturday @ 3:30pm ET on SPEED
ARCA: Federated Car Care 200 - Sunday @ 2pm ET on SPEED

Surprising that both Vegas races (Indy and trucks) are during the daytime.

I'm not sure when the Truck/Indy races could run at any other time this weekend without getting destroyed ratings-wise.

That's true. Although with Sun night being free since Cup is on Sat night, maybe Indy could have run Sun evening? You are probably talking about competition from non-racing sports also though, which I have no idea about hehe.

Well, the Sunday Night Football matchup for this week has two teams under .500 going against each other. Should take some of that football crowd away, but then there's the LCS/World Series...

That isn't Chicagoland or Homestead, may I add.

I still think that Johnson won't win it this year

It'll be Earl or Kyle and we'll wish Johnson had won it.

Busch won't win it, he can't do anything in the Chase

This is correct. Unless he focuses on Cup AND actually mature himself (by that, I mean actually realize that there's other cars on the track and is not entitled to the entire track), he can surpass Richard Petty's win total for all I care, he will still have the same number of Cup titles as Dale Jr.

He's only won a single Chase race in his career and his best finish is 6th. He has the talent, but he's too busy using it against inferior opponents.

I was trying to think of when the hell he won a Chase race, and it was his rookie year. SIX YEARS AGO. It's not that long, technically, but it's still a reminder I'm getting old. :(

According to ESPN the old track record (around 193mph) should fall tonight in cup qualifying. Hopefully it will be a fun session to follow. :)

Track record stands. That time and mph don't correlate correctly, mclaren.

Track Qualifying Record: #38-Elliott Sadler, Oct 2005, 193.216mph

Edwards had a shot at it, but he botched 3-4. Stewart on pole.

He walked away just fine. That was brutal. Got loose exiting turn 4 coming to complete his first lap. Had to chase it down the hill and got in the grass in the first dog leg and it sent him straight back head on into the outside wall in the middle portion of the frontstretch. Nasty, nasty hit.
