was it my eyes or did I see a service truck diving for cover at turn 1 just as the cars were going round the corner?

Apparently an extra pace lap was counted as lap 1, but Versus never mentioned that.

I think it was a Portuguese street circuit in WTCC (Porto?) where they built tyre chicane quickly in one lap - when they had rolling start they went just straight through.

Could they do the same here?

I don't understand why they didn't do what ALMS did for its start and straight line the chicane. If prototypes can do it no reason for Indycars not to
