For the first time in a decade, the Sprint Cup Series gets a new track on it's schedule: Kentucky Speedway. The series joins the Nationwide and Trucks for a big weekend of night racing. Will the track's first Cup venture deliver some new excitement onto the schedule and to the 'Bluegrass State' for years to come, or just an extra-large slice of Bruton Smith's diamond-encrusted shit?

Sprint Cup: Quaker State 400 - Saturday @ 7:30pm ET on TNT
Nationwide: Feed The Children 300 - Friday @ 7:30pm ET on ESPN
Trucks: UNOH 225 - Thursday @ 8pm ET on SPEED

ARCA @ Berlin: Hantz Group 200 - Saturday @ 8:30pm ET

Is that confirmed or are we just going by the passenger car video? They're showing a fair amount of file footage of Cup cars testing on local news and I've seen them driving below that solid, white line.

The issue may be, that the flat apron is barely wide enough for one car, so if you get green flag stops, and two that won't concede (or no rule), one of them is going to drive up into traffic Lepage style, even if they may "mark" the bottom lane as apron (which is seems they have) no racer is going to respect it without a double yellow line.

Won't be attending any of this weekend's races. Hell, I still remember going to the first Truck race at Kentucky, and what a clusterfuck that was. I think it's ridiculous too that they're charging admission for practice.

Hopefully it won't be another 1.5 mile snoozefest.

Anybody here at the track today? If so have they painted a (double) yellow line around the apron?

Sure looks like they've done something in the past couple days but I can't see properly on the photo I've got if it's a single or double line, gonna be a pain in the arse to get the NR2k3 track retextured for Saturday if it is a double one

Anyone else bother with the Truck prerace show? They had Krista Voda playing with a shotgun. Amusing.
KyBu missed the drivers meeting, will start last.

Looks to me like Justin Marks turned her. I don't see how else they would have both spun.

Josh Richards doesn't seem to understand the whole "no passing before the start/finish line" rule.
