From the BTCC thread.

Quote:
Meanwhile, in STCC's first race...

3 ex-BTCC champions on the grid, expected them to dominate? No really. Thompson 3rd, Rydell 5th, Turkington only 7th. Jason Watt won, after Richard Göransson crashed heavily with two laps to go and had to go to hospital for observations.

Göransson is confirmed to be out until August due to fractures to his spine in his head-on crash. It fucking sucks.

Johan Sturesson leads the championship after the first weekend. Next race is in two weeks at Ring Knutstorp.

Goransson's shunt was very heavy. Very bad luck. What actually happened? Did he just miss his braking or did something break on the car? I didn't really understand what the commentators were saying.

I haven't seen any explanation on that. But it couldn't be just a silly mistake. No steering, no mention-worthy braking, not a lot of runoff, head on into concrete. Very bad luck. It sucks to have the 3 best drivers of the last few seasons out; Robert Dahlgren to WTCC, Thed Björk is setting up his new team to 2012 and Göransson injured.

Shame for Goransson.

I watched some of race 1 but found it rather bland, probably just the fault of the circuit. I hope for a speedy recovery for Goransson. What happened in race 2? Is it worth downloading.

Some of it was alright actually. But the rest was fairly bland.

Jyllandsringen is a bad track. Denmark's only cool track is Ring Djursland, dunno why they don't go there.

Probably because it's dangerous as fuck and there's nowhere to put people.

From what I've seen Ring Djursland is as dangerous as Jyllandsringen

You've missed my point, they are both dangerous, but at DS says, Ring Djursland is at least a decent layout.

Just looked at the layouts. Much prefer Jyllandsringen

It was the rear brakes failing on Göransson's car that caused the accident. I hope they bring in Fredrik Lestrup now meanwhile (I used to be in the same simracing team as him lol).

Ring Knutstorp tomorrow! On a track on which he haven't driven on for over 20 years, Rydell qualifies 2nd, behind Fredrik Ekblom in the Scirocco. Turk 8th, Thompo 10th.

Anyone is watching the coverage at the moment ? Looks like something serious has happened to one rider during the Pro-Superbike race...

Don't have any info, and I don't understand Swedish.
