Shameful. Though having seen this, it makes be very glad that the fans in Las Vegas last week were so well-behaved and understanding.

Maybe but come on. Even if the ticket cost 1 year of salary it is not a reason to do that. And I'm sure they knew what was going on. Some people have got phones with internet so they could check and probably an announcement was made on the circuit. Shame on them. Hope we never go back to this track !

Poor Marco, I hope you have a better life up there, our world is just made of pain, stupidity and disrespect.

They must have known there was a serious accident though.

Any real fan knows how bad a situation must be if they don't restart the race

[Valentino Rossi]

I'm not in the mood to translate it right now, sorry

Rossi did all he could to avoid first a collision with Edwards but then with Simoncelli. It was just too little too late, but you can really see he tried everything he could, even before Edwards who really didn't see it coming. Poor Marco, I hope he didn't suffer. :(

I don't agree here.
Edwards definately saw it coming, you can see clearly that he did EVERYTHING (correct) to avoid poor Marco. Don't forget they're traveling at speeds around 160 kph at that time.
First you see him move his knee and he changes his line, changes his focus (target fixation) as you can see Edwards' helmet moves away to the right from where Marco is going. And look at the angle both Edwards and Rossi already have (facing the right side of the track) right before impact with Simoncelli.
It's just incredible that this freak accident happened as it happened.

Edwards and Rossi would both have seen Simoncelli lose the front end of the bike and they expected him to slide into the gravel on the outside, so both took an inside line. It's unusual for the tyres to grip again after a lowside and even when they do, it mostly results in a highside (see Kenny Roberts Jr. at Paul Ricard 1999) but in this case with the bike almost completely horizontal it slewed across the track and across the seemingly safe line taken by Edwards and Rossi.

If organizers don´t tell why the race was cancelled, that may trigger some protesting against that action.

Spectators in the main grandstand didn´t see the crash so if they lacked information, result is this.

They had nowhere to go... They probably wish they were anywhere else but there.

I wonder how they didn't see the crash as there are giant screens on the track and the replay of the crash was shown several times.

Seems that Dorna TV didn't show that much respect either.

i'm sorry not to traslate them in english but i feel unconfortable to touch their words and obviously change them in this situation, i know it may sound silly but I feel like it's not right. There's still Google translator for that.

Wow!

I was never a fan of Simoncelli, he was a good rider though.

RIP Marco Simoncelli
