And now he's out. What is it with drivers doing that on the Wellington Straight? Could have been a lot worse.

WTF Sainz. Clearly only driving because of his name.

I hope Sainz gets a ban for that move. Shame it was Williamson that came off worse.

Congratulations! Best outcome for all the three in their home race. And as a Britt fan, what else could you wish for? All well deserved.

Some media recognition for the other two that aren't Lewis? :p

Not to piss on your / our parade but Bird is really the latest Giorgio Pantano of GP2, proving that if you stick around long enough you'll eventually win.

Bird has driven well in every series he's raced in. He just seems to be missing that little something. Consistancy/keeping out of trouble perhaps.

His career reminds me a lot of Adam Carroll. Possibly good enough to be given a chance in F1, but always beaten there by less deserving pay drivers (Hi Max).

10-place grid penalty for Sainz, 20-second penalty for McKee and Sunday race ban for Kujala.

Ehh, he won in front of his home crowd, let him have his moment.

Also I kind of hope he doesn't get to F1 just to prevent lazy "Bird has race in hand" "Bird on high after win" type headlines.

...though I hear he's good on Twitter. *cough*

Yes I should let him have his moment. Bird isn't an average driver by any means nor is he as bad as some of his compatriots (hello Max) but he's probably of a similar standard to Mike Conway. Bird is nowhere near as good as Adam Carroll.

I'm sure they all have a bright future ahead of them

Just not in F1
