That was two clear moves across the track width, what that guy did today was nothing by comparison.

I'm not sure in what Kals said is an insult, it's pretty accurate really, the only similarity is both crashes happened at Monaco.

Sorry Phil, I was trying to poke fun at you rather than come across as insulting.

You saw how quickly the others caught up to him and Daly, he was off the pace and the way he was diving meant that an accident was pretty much inevitable.

Whether it was driveable is debatable and he was certainly a long way off the pace; he had a train behind him that would make Jarno proud.

He was having to brake so early for corners that it was catching Daly out, and had they restarted after the SC I would lay odds on a similar accident occurring.

Fault lies with the stewards for not calling him in. He was driving a car that was so fundamentally different to the rest of the field that it was a risk.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

How much slower was he? 5 seconds?

That's the difference between the back and front of an F1 grid. You should if you don't dart around like a complete madman and

It reminds me of when Alonso was hugely off the pace towards the end of Monaco 05. Heidfeld made one move and drove into the distance, Webber eventually got past, but only after moving everywhere and locked brakes etc.

He was a minute behind the guy ahead of him on the lap before the SC came out.

I don't know what the gap was before he lost the wing.

I would also say that different standards are used in F1. You would expect drivers of the calibre of Alonso and Webber to drive safely, if aggressively and robustly at the same time. I would not make those same assumptions about the GP3 field.

That's a fair point which can't be argued. The thing is, no-one was really all over the back of Daly so one could still argue that pace wasn't that much of an issue. I could be wrong though.

They were all over him going into the hairpin but spread out going through the tunnel.

Suranovich was given the black/orange the lap before; it wasn't shown on race control.

And yes, Suranovich was 61s behind Visoiu when the SC was thrown. Over 11 laps, that's huge.

That's about the difference in speed between Schumi and Narain in qualifying today. What if Schumi finds himself battling for positions Narain tomorrow? It's not really that different.

If that is indeed the case then that's pretty serious.

Black & Orange only means pit within 3 laps, not park it immediately.

Back on the previous page Phil mentioned about an age limit, maybe that is a good idea because the difference between a mature driver and someone of 16 is that the mature one knows when it's time to give up the fight.

I don't see an issue. When given the chance afterall, wouldn't you flip off Nigel Mansell?

I cannot claim the moral high ground here, I did propose setting Mansell on fire in the GP thread.

But they did say Chief Steward, not Chief Whinger.

Mansell isn't the chief steward, just one of three

Whatever you think about the accident, you can't be that much of a dick that you don't even explain yourself to the stewards and just insult them.
I expect a ban for that more than the crash.

As for the crash, I guess I must be the only one seeing him come towards the inside of the track while in the braking zone, which is a stupid thing to do.
It reminds me of the FBMW crash from Donington in 2005, the driver in front who had Joe Osbourne fly over the top of him said he decided to block for the inside under braking and brake a bit early to get a good run out of the corner, yet somehow was surprised when a car flew over the top of him!
Well duh, you blocked and braked early, Ralf Schumacher style, obviously someone is going to hit you!

Same here really, without a rear wing he's obviously got to brake a lot earlier yet still weaves towards the inside in the braking zone, I can see the stewards taking a dim view on that which is probably what set him off swearing at them.

Oh well, you can pretty much tell from that one race he's not F1 material so its not exactly worth losing sleep over!

Beaux Barfield says that he would have thrown the driver out of the championship for that sort of driving in general.
