Mentioned that to Jim Tretow last night that it was like watching an ASA race on TNN, he said it brought back good memories.

Glad to see Ross Kenseth getting a chance in ARCA. He deserves the shot after all of his late model successes.

Race will air Thursday @ 11pm ET on NBCSN

I usually have Thursdays off, but since they've started airing these races... I work.

I will say if you like the idea of ARCA's other races getting TV coverage, email NBC Sports Network and tell them you like the coverage, or get on Twitter and tell them. These 4 races are a test, if they get enough positive feedback, maybe they'll do more next year.

Anyone see last night's Springfield broadcast?

As far as the final restart is concerned: Kovski getting penalized was easily justified, Fike however was iffy at best.

Yeah, that was a shitty call.

Does ARCA not have the ability to wave off a restart? That would have been the best way to handle that, I thought. But once Kovski took off, and finally Poole took off, Gallagher still hadn't gone yet and by then the green had to have been out. I don't see how Fike should be penalized, but that was a shitty deal for Spencer, I think he easily could have won that.

Late in the first practice, the top of the speed charts is very tightly bunched. The top 7 cars are separated by less than 1/10th of a second. Spencer Gallagher is the fastest car so far.

Justin Boston was the fastest in final practice after knocking Ross Kenseth out of the top spot with just seconds remaining in the session.

Spencer Gallagher, in the No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet, continues his strong day. Gallagher was second fastest in the practice session and third in the second.

Kyle Benjamin became the youngest winner in ARCA history. Travis Sauter encountered
mechanical problems and was not a threat to win, while Ross Kenseth pitted in the late stages in the race as his car's handling went away after starting up front.

Results from DuQuoin:

Spoiler:

Ken Schrader wins his second race of the season and beats his own record of becoming the oldest winner in ARCA
history, a week after Kyle Benjamin achieved the feat of becoming the youngest.

Winning on alternate pit strategy after starting on pole, Schrader had fought his way after restarting 12th halfway through the race and methodically making his way through the field after a few late race cautions.

ARCA Trucks @ Kentucky

They ran heat races for the first time I can remember, and it wasn't bad. Had a little drama after the race, with one team owner saying some not-so-nice things to another's wife. Had the series director and three cops in the garage area after the race.

Schrader did it all at Du Quoin. Fastest in ARCA practice, won the pole, won the 20 lap UMP Modified race, then won the ARCA race.
