Fox Sports South will be televising the Summer Shootout races (Legends and Bandoleros) from Charlotte Motor Speedway every Monday at 6PM ET.

Last night's Sportsman Feature from Ponderosa Speedway:

My buddy Glen took home the checkers tonight in the 50 lap open competition ministock race...with a stock twin-cam 240SX motor(his tour motor violated the 9:1 compression ratio rule, as it's 11:1)...the roof wing is off of a Supermodified, and as the only competitor to actually do anything aero to their car, dominated the race.

It's like the NASCAR equivalent of the ECW Arena, but with none of the positive qualities of the latter.

Havent seen it on video yet, but im hearing from friends on twitter that Tony Stewart caused a stupid wreck on lap 6 of the Smoke 360 Shootout and Candandaigua Motorsports Park that caused 15 cars to flip and sent 2 drivers to the hospital..Im wondering if that 15 cars flipping isn't supposed to mean 15 cars involved, but either way thats a big mess...and people are extremely unhappy with him.

From Empire Super Sprint announcer Mike Mallet's twitter feed, 12-15 cars destroyed, at least 4 cars flipped, Alysha Ruggles (CMP 305 sprint regular) and Paul Kinney (ESS regular) were the drivers transported to the hospital, Stewart took full responsibility for causing the crash. Bob Miller, the track videographer, always posts highlights on his youtube channel so would anticipate him posting it sometime this week.

Wow. Maybe I will end up buying a ticket to Lebanon Valley this Sunday.

That must be it. And damn, some of those cars really launched off the inside wall.

That would be the wreck, pretty nasty looking crash, Sammy Reakes IV (who has the best nickname, "The Honey Badger", lol) was the first one to launch off the inside wall. I hate to see something like this happen to the local 360 sprint crowd, I go to a lot of their shows and they are an entertaining bunch of Americans and Canadians and the racing is phenomenal, this might knock a few guys out for part of the year. An update on the injured drivers, Kinney had some leg and back injuries but seems to be ok, Ruggles had some back injuries which may put her in a back brace.

Based on the Thanks the post received, I guess I'm in the minority then.

I love that place and want to go to a race there badly!

Guess I'm just different than everyone else.

If I were Tony I would pay all the repair bills (and hospital bills) and make sure each one of those guys has a car for the next race. I hate it when Cup guys cause the big one in a Nationwide race, but this is far worse than that.

I don't have anything against it either, especially as a fan and not a competitor. Just a different beast and still more legit than plate racing.

Another view of the big crash at Canandaigua, this time from the track videographer, the 19k is Paul Kinney, one of the injured drivers, who looks to get hit by the 20 of Zach Wiegand all though it didn't look like a very hard hit, Paul is ok. I had a hard time picking out where Alysha Ruggles crashed because the second video focuses on the car wrecking on the racing surface, but in the first video, Ruggles is the last car that clobbers and launches off the inside wall.

The Derek Stoltz vs. The Robertsons feud continued tonight at Bowman Gray apparently and has led to the suspension of one of the Robertsons for the remainder of the season.
