It looks like Thorn's car got launched when he hit the front of one of the other cars in the crash.

Late Models always seem to have a tendency to climb over the top of either other with glancing blows like that. Never seen one get launched like that before though.

I'm not sure if this takes place in the 60s or 70s but it has some of the best footage from a local track I've seen from that era.
I'm assuming this must be a portion of a longer documentry, anyone know what it might be called?

Final race at Auburndale Speedway is tomorrow night. All track champions have already been crowned. The final race is a 75 lap open wheel modified feature with a $1500 grand prize. The sportsman class is also running with a $1000 grand prize, as well as scramblers, street stocks and legends. I'm going to borrow my dad's camera to try and get some better pictures.

They're also having a swap meet the same afternoon, so I may go out and check that out for the hell of it.

Mario Gosselin was racing in the scrambler division last night.

Didn't get any good pictures (I'm no professional for sure lol) but still took a few videos. Caught the only two incidents of the night. Was a very clean night. 12 open wheel modifieds, which was twice as much as last time I went. James Wright III took the win. I'll probably cut together a short highlight reel of the video I did take.

Minor incidents at 4:54 and 9:10. Best finish of the night was in the outlaw modifieds. Battle for the lead to the finish starts at 11:10

Modifieds at Rockingham, interesting. Will it be one the big track or the short track? The modifieds on the big track would be cool, I think.

Bowman Gray is going to be an embarrassment.

Also, 4 road courses on the West sked, while there are none on the East. That's a shame.

I don't mind that BGS was a wreckfest last year. I probably won't make friends with many crewmen but I like having one or two races on the calender where you have to bump guys out of the way to pass and it's total war on the racetrack.

Other than that, cool to see the Rock get a date as well as some of the other new dates like Brainerd. Never heard of Sandia before. It is sorta weird to not have a single RC on the East calender. You'd expect atleast WG to be on it.

Watkins Glen and Lime Rock would have been cool, but I guess it's not to be. Then again, those tracks are in the North and that's not where they want to be anymore.

The All-American 400 lives again!

http://www.speed51.com/2012_Stories/PASS_South/nashville_aa400_announcement_1_3.html

I'm glad to see one of late model racing's crown jewel events coming back in the way it's traditionally run. I'm sure they'll have a great field of cars for that race. PASS seems to get very strong fields for their big events like the World Crown 300 and the Snowball Derby. This race should be no different.

That's great. I watched a few of the 80s and 90s All-American 400 broadcasts and they were always exciting.
