Just a reminder that this dreadfully long summer break is soon over. It really is stupidly long, but it is at least September now.

Some interesting prototype speculations:

Well, there are speculations they want to turn it into a winter series ending at Le Mans, go figure :)

Good news coming from Japan. Let's hope they don't vanish like a Dome LMP or te Lexus GTE.

I wonder if SARD are in talks to run a Rebellion chassis with Toyota backing. It may seem the most logical solution if they state they're in contact "with a team who is also a constructor".

Or Dome or OAK.

Well, neither of those have an LMP1 car available. Furthermore, the word is that Dome will move from being a Toyota to a Honda affiliate next year. SARD has always been a Toyota team. Rebellion is on the look out for teams that wants to buy their car, this looks like perfect fit.

From the debris looked like the crash happened about halfway up Eau Rouge, then span all the way to the top. Driver's been taken off in an ambulance now

Race abandoned completely, no podium ceremony, maybe a bad sign?

TV coverage only showed his wrecked car spinning into view at the top of Eau Rouge. Will have to see if any spectators caught it.

Okay, thanks. Looks worrying. I haven't heard anything (negative nor positive, just nothing) from people at Spa today.

Racing cancelled for tomorrow, shame the tyre can't keep up with what Radical SR8 is capable of doing! Wishing Marateotto a speedy recovery!

These are some screengrabs from the crash. The filmer used his phone to take pictures from his camera display. The video should be up on monday!
