Pretty sure that's a show car. It's an old AMR Lola Aston Martin bodge job. The car they'll be running is a standard 2012 Lola P2.

DeltaWing have announced Nissan as the engine supplier. As expected it is running a 1.6L 300hp i4 turbo.

Can see on the onboard that there is no front end grip at all. Aiming for times between P1 and P2.

Yeah, doesn't look very good to drive does it. Seems crazy that it's gotten this far, and now has Nissan backing. I wish them all the best, it's nice to see something truly different out there.

I love it. Motorsport lacks this sort of innovation nowadays.

Never thought it would hit the track. I got to give it to them, that the thing actually turns is a miracle on itself.

The length of that thing might cause some hazardous situations in passing? I mean when other cars are passing it, of course. Including the already slowest GT-Am with a blown tyre.

How is it a miracle? Engineers that know what they're doing is a miracle? Just because there are idiots think they know more than people who have been doing this for decades?

I totally agree, it's great to see someone thinking outside the square

Here's a great article that sheds a bit more light on the Deltawing

It said it will be outside the official classification at Le Mans. But can we still can follow what position the DeltaWing will be during the race?

Thanks for calling me an idiot based on one single phrase. Says a lot about you

The whole car just seems odd from every angle. So, yeh, its a miracle it still seems to perform like a normal racecar while it clearly isn't.

I couldn't agree more. It looks surreal on the track. It actually moves and turns. I hope they do well in Le Mans, or at least the full distance.

Ron Fellows was in Toronto last week and gave a talk to some Porsche Club people. Apparently he shared that he wasn't very optimistic about the future of prototypes in the ALMS. :(

Let's hope he is wrong!
