Thanks, great story. And it seems that Audi has made another movie about the 24 hours. Hopefully we will get to see this soon.

According to John Dagys in Twitter, Sebring are very likely to be in the WEC Calendar for 2012. Same thing for Interlagos and Fuji, but FIA and ACO will shown a provisional calendar at Silverstone, during the 1000 Km race. Stay Tuned.

Sebring almost has to be there. With Interlagos (or at least a South American round) sounding more and more likely, and with Fuji slated for mid-September, Petit is almost certainly off. Understandably so; while the race itself has become a classic, Road Atlanta simply cant handle the 60 cars that would show up for a mixed ALMS/WEC weekend.

United Autosports has announced their entry into Petit Le Mans, adding another competitor to LMP2. They'll be running a Pescarolo-Judd/BMW with technical support from DAMS, essentially the #49 car campaigned at Le Mans this year. Zak Brown will be driving alongside Mark Patterson and Stefan Johansson, with the goal of entering Le Mans next year. This should help boost the LMP2 field for Petit, now to include two Level 5 ARX-01g's, the Signatech Oreca-Nissan, an OAK-Pescarolo and now the United Autosports Pescarolo (if you can call 4 -> 5 an improvement). Shouldn't be many extra entries for LMP1. Here's what we're looking at:

LMP1 (13):
2x Audi R18
2x Peugeot 908
2x OAK-Pescarolo
1x Oreca Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP (?)
1x AMR Lola-Aston Martin
1x Rebellion Lola-Toyota
2x Dyson Lola-Mazda
1x Cytosport Lola-Aston Martin
1x AutoCon Lola-AER

Hope has withdrawn from the rest of the season, and Oreca is questionable for the rest of the season, with an issue with "parts supply" for the old car... They're on the entry list for Silverstone, however.

LMP2 (5):
2x Level 5 ARX-01g
1x Signatech Nissan
1x OAK-Pescarolo-Judd/BMW
1x United Autosports Pescarolo-Judd/BMW

GTE-Pro (20):
2x Corvette
2x BMW
2x ESM-Ferrari
2x Luxury-Ferrari
2x RSR Jaguar
2x Lotus Evora
2x Robertson Ford GT
2x Flying Lizard Porsche
1x Falken Porsche
1x Risi Ferrari
1x AF Corse Ferrari
1x Paul Miller Porsche

GTE-AM (6):
1x Larbre Corvette
1x Krohn F430
1x Gulf AMR Middle East Aston Martin Vantage
1x AF Corse Ferrari F430
1x CRS Ferrari F430
1x Proton Porsche

Based on Road America, expect about 7 LMPCs and up to 9 GTCs. Totaled up, that reaches 60 cars. 8O

This will be interesting, really. 2.54 miles isn't a lot of space for those cars, and I'm beginning to wonder if they aren't asking certain teams to reconsider their entries or if they'll be limiting the Challenge entries based on space.

Fuck yeah 26 full blown GT cars. IMSA GT ftw.
