I see a topic about it on the Autosport-forum, but I don't see anything news or something in that.

Several news sites such as autosport are now starting to pick it up and make a headline out of it.

Destroy his race, ie keep him behind. What's so sinister about that?

Nothing at all, but the neurotics that populate Atlas have seen fit to create a 400 post pissing contest about it as well as one mildly funny knock-off thread.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It's a nothing story. Clearly it is a slow news day.

Let's hope Massa won't be moaning when someone else destroys his race in the future. I don't see that happening tbh. Massa is clearly losing it being outclassed by Alonso race by race.

Is it really that shocking? We know Rob Smedley seems to be a bit of a dick anyway - see Spa when he said "Fuck sake Felipe" when Fernando passed him. No doubt he was a great engineer for Massa, but he always seems pissed off. Plus, telling your driver to destroy the race of someone else is just poor choice of words. "Destroy" obviously has a negative mentality, but in communicating with a driver whose native language isn't English you need to use words he'll understand.

couldn't agree more.

PS: Who's responsible for the Suzuka thread? Maybe it's time to open it :p

DRS zone at Suzuka will be the front straight, with detection shortly after 130R.

Massa's ridiculous. I even think Ferrari did a gross mistake by renewing his contract for 2012, they should've taken him off way before that.

They didn't wanted to be the guys that sacked the driver that had a near fatal accident.

Agreed, Massa is the kind of driver that blames everyone and everything for his own mistakes, he don't deserve to be driving in a strong team like Ferrari, he's a good driver, but nothing more than that and his time is over, Ferrari is losing an important seat that could be given to a real talented driver.

It's amazing that Ferrari has put up with Massa for so long. I mean, here's the guy that was astonishing in 2008 and even into early 2009. He won 6 races and was, as we all know, so close to the title. No-one ever thought Felipe Massa would win a race, let alone get close to a championship. But he hasn't taken a top 4 finish all season. When was the last time a Ferrari #2 (who completed a whole season - ignoring Badoer/Fisi's stint in 2009) failed to even step on a podium all year, when his team mate has done so frequently? (It was actually Larini/Capelli in 1992, but the F92A was a shocking car). I can't help but feel that he'd be better off at a team such as Renault, where he could probably outperform the car, rather than being continually beaten by Alonso at Ferrari. He seems to be suffering from "Fisichella syndrome" - good in a shit car, shit in a good car.

Ferrari want the WCC and with Felipe Massa, that's going to be difficult to achieve. Mark Webber is the perfect #2 for Vettel, whilst the McLaren duo are fast enough to pick up points. Ferrari has it perfectly in that Fernando isn't being challenged inside the team - as we've seen him get annoyed in 2007 and even occasionally in 2005/6 when he felt Renault helped Fisichella for a few races - but they need a stronger #2 driver.
