That's about as useful as them saying they'll announce their driver line before the 2012 season

I'm not massively fussed about the kerb colours, but Spa really has been butchered over the last few years. A crime really.

+1, the kerbs really don' matter when you look at what they did to the circuit just to keep F1, and now they might leave again...

As a spectator, Spa still is awesome. Literally every corner offers a great viewing spot. Unlike many other F1 tracks fans can walk around pretty much the entire circuit with General Admission tickets. I can't even imagine how incredible it must have been 5-10 years ago.

From McNish on Autosport talking about being a driver steward

Quote:
Sometimes on TV, from the limited coverage, an incident can look clear-cut, but when you start to look at it from other angles it throws a different light on things. That side of it surprised me, it really did take my breath away - the level of information they have. It also made the job more difficult. It was easier to make the right decision, but the detail you have to go into to make that decision made it harder.

Can we see some of those angles please? McNish is reprising his role in Hungary

If information is available to the stewards at the time but not during the race, then it should be made available somehow afterwards. Obviously you can't fill the race with replays of incidents, it'd be dull. But show the other videos on F1.com, or release them to BBC forum or something like that.

When a driver is given a penalty, like a drive through, the message should be shown alongside a live picture of them racing, immediately followed by replays of the camera angles which made the stewards feel that a penalty was necessary

I'm certain that after the debacles of Belgium and Fuji in 08 the FIA said they would (from 09 onwards) release the video stewards decisions were based on. Theres even a section for it on the FIA Media Centre website but i've never seen it used once.

Found it here. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/ ... /8653.html

Im not sure why they don't do that.

They could easily put together a short video clip on f1.com with someone talking through the stewards decision & explaining all the video angles & other information which the stewards based there decision on.

This morning's news:

Ecclestone offers Nurburgring contract (the losses: ouch!)
http://www.f1zone.net/site/ecclestone-o ... ring/7746/

And D'Ambrosio/Virgin talks about 2012 are underway whilst Bouiller says 3 teams are interested in Grosjean for 2012

Nurburgring is doomed without that contract anyway. It may look bad them making a €13m loss, but given how screwed it is in every other way, it doesn't really matter.

I think the money is split between Bernie, CVC, FOM & the teams.

Teams get it in the form of the prize money post season, FOM use it to pay for the TV Broadcast's/TV equipment & I believe FOM also use it to pay for all the DHL cargo planes which the team equipment is flown around the world on.

I don't remember specifically, but it was sometime in the last week or two, doing a quick Google search I found all this - http://www.google.com/search?q=bottas+w ... oe=&surl=1

EDIT - found it. It was from a reliable Italian souce. I'll get some further info on this.
