As long as it keeps the fairgrounds from being torn down and turned into a soccer stadium, I'm for it.

Thankfully, the current mayor sees that the race track helps the city of Nashville, unlike the last one.

I believe the plans for the Fairgrounds now is the race track will get upgrades (doesn't matter if Bristol / SMI or Formosa promotes it), and the proposed soccer stadium will be built next store behind the race track grandstands.

SMI is trying to get into the soccer / MLS scene last couple of years as well. They have been proposing to the MLS & City of Charlotte for a expansion team but it's not looking as likely with the back & forth battle on upgrading Memorial Stadium. I wonder if they are trying to get involved with the Nashville MLS project as well.

according to ESPN. Subway terminated their sponsorship contract with Joe Gibbs Racing / Daniel Suarez over a NBCSN television/social media segment that involved Suarez giving out Dunkin Donuts to fans at New Hampshire.
Video of said segment.

It's always hilarious how insanely butthurt and insecure corporations can be.

Hmm...Dunkin Donuts to sponsor Suarez, maybe?

This way, Donuts with Daniel will be a regular thing lmao

Jersey Mike's and Jimmy John's are better, anyway.

I'm really surprised the JGR PR department failed to question if Suarez doing that segment would cause this exact issue with one of their sponsors.

They probably did, but Subway was a Carl supporter, he was always in their adverts etc. but you didn't see any Subway adverts with Daniel in did you? If I didn't know better I'd say Subway were looking for a way out and this gave them the excuse they needed.

I've seen a few Subway commercials with Daniel earlier in the season.

That said, it's astounding how Subway's anger makes no fucking sense. Both companies don't even compete in the same core market (subs vs donuts), and at no point in the video posted above did Daniel mention DD by name, much less openly endorse the company.

To be honest, JGR should have known it was a conflict. I mean Subway is being a dick here but come on, they are loosely competitors.

Subway, in the last few years, has been pushing their breakfast which is DDs prime business. That said, this was clearly a bitch out for Subway.

Some companies can coexist because they don't see one another as competitors. Jimmy Johns and Outback for example with Harvick.

Subway sees Dunkin as competition because they are focusing heavily on a market that they reign in which is breakfast. You may see it as two different things, donuts and sandwiches but the correlation is there.

It's all bullshit though. Subway could've turned around and thought of something cool to do with Daniel that promoted them more.

I'm more inclined to believe they wanted out anyway.

That's true. For the record, I would've been completely okay with Subway pulling the rug out from JGR/Suarez IF Daniel had been shown giving out DD breakfast sandwiches instead of donuts, a product that Subway doesn't sell and more than likely has no foreseeable interest in selling.

The odd thing is, if Subway didn't act, would anyone have cared about that video, aside from the immediate families of those that were involved with the making of the video? I highly doubt it, and I doubt 99.9 percent of any of NASCAR's fan base would have even known the video even existed. Subway's action gave that video more attention than anything else could have.

And now from the "What the fuck" department:

The winner of the Chicago XFinity and Cup races will get "slimed."

Does Nickelodeon still slime? I thought they ditched that concept after my generation.
