I dunno - we make jokes about the quality of ARCA drivers all the time, but even with their "unlimited GWC" rule, what's the most they've ever done? Three?

I mean, I remember the craziness at Gateway in the Truck Series one year (I think it was '04, where Crawford and Hamilton got up on their sides), but this is the Cup Series for cryin' out loud. They're *supposed* to be the top level, and keeping in consideration how "amateur" ARCA is and how decently they're handling the unlimited GWC rule, there's no way in hell we should even expect a Cup race to take 4-5 attempts to finish a race.

But... that's just how I'm looking at it.

The 2006 ARCA race at Gateway had i believe 6 G-W-C attempts. They ran 22 laps past the scheduled distance.

instead of the trucks having the caution clock they should do what soccer does have a 2 hour time limit on they race keep the clock rolling through the cautions and have the drivers wonder when the checkers are coming

I would actually prefer this to the current setup.

I think timed races would be interesting but I don't think much of the fan base would like it. If they keep this caution clock around, they might as well just run 2 or 3 races on one night, have the rules like what the Xfinity Series is doing with the heat races, but do it like BTCC/V8SC and some local tracks and count points for all of the races. If it's a big track then have a mini championship or something. That way they can add some more short tracks to the schedule if their pit road isn't big enough because it would be sprint races.

If they want to make the racing better, make it slower.

Also, increase the suck up. Handford Device for NASCAR :metal: :metal:

How would they be wondering? They'd know how much time is left..

I must have been mistaken I thought in soccer the injury time was somewhat of a mystery lol to be fair I don't watch much soccer I've just been told of this concept also I was in no way serious about my first post

However it isn't much crazier than the caution clock

How would "injury time" be accrued in your fantasy TRUX thing.

Cautions, the time would keep rolling and be added to the end of the 2 hour mark

...or just do it like every other timed series in the world and just run it up to 2 hours regardless...

wtf?? I thought the whole reason why Stewart wanted away from JGR was because of his ties to Chevy?? Maybe Haas went this way with Stewart's retirement?

^^ Ford is still an American brand, Toyota is Jap (even though it ironically is as American as Chevy and Ford).
