The MWR we've known since '07 is a done deal after this year. Even if they do merge with someone, it'll be a shell of its former self, and eventually go the way of DEI.

To be fair, as embarrassing and painful to watch as 2007 was, they sure did come a long way. Say what you will about Mikey, but he did surround himself with the right people to build a contender. Sure, Kauffman had a lot to do with it, but Waltrip had business smarts and played a big part in getting them to where they had been pre-Richmond '13 (even though his performance behind the wheel was never up to par).

MWR has accomplished a lot. Say what you will about Mikey but it's a shame to see a moderately successful team go away.

That's my favourite NASCAR moment of the year.

I also read that Goodyear is going back to the white lettering on their tires for Darlington, to keep with the whole retro-theme for the race.

I noticed that it looks like they painted parts of the walls red like they used to at Darlington. You've got to love the little details like that.

I hope they will release an onboard of that. That will be the most anticipated onboard of the year.

Man Nascar is puzzling as hell. They're hyping up this Darlington throwback shit to no end, but then they ruin the racing by being 'progressive'. It's like they're tryin to be Dirty Harry but they keep doin Harry Potter shit

That engine sound is music to my ears.

If you go on Andy's Twitter page and scroll back through the weeks, it shows them getting the car out (it's an Oldsmobile, not a Lumina), ripping down the engine and getting everything set. Even Leo Jackson came to help. Truly awesome stuff.
