I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 races with an enforced pack-racing, but that's it. And none at Kentucky, that was perfect.

We have 4 of those races a season. I think that's enough.

Well, not so much, just some, like it could be at Michigan. I'd say run one with this proposed aero, and one with less aero and 13-14 HP configurations.

Too bad Eldora isn't tonight.

There is nothing scheduled for Eldora tonight and the trucks last raced 6 days ago. They could've made this work. Everyone knows the MLB allstar break week is a huge lull in american sports. NASCAR dropped the ball on this one.

The problem with NASCAR running tonight at Eldora is the date conflicts with the Kings Royal later this weekend & tonight's Brad Doty Classic @ Limaland (which was canceled due to rain). Those races have been there much longer and I doubt Eldora would want to conflict. Plus NASCAR wants them to prep the track dry due to the Trucks having windshields still installed for the race so it makes sense to have it after the Kings Royal

Good point. I still needed some sports last night. It was rough. There was no way in hell I was going to watch the ESPYs.

Yeah the ESPYs is just another bit of ESPN programming gone totally tits up. Sports are already an objective competition. So why the fuck do we need a subjective awards ceremony to pit different athletes and teams against one another in an irrelevant popularity contest?

Yes, it's about buzz and selling commercials. The battle cry of modern television.

My fiancee and I were sitting at a bar last night having a quick drink after dinner when the ESPYs came on TV. I explained to her they're like the awards shows they do for movies/etc. She asked "So, it's basically a popularity contest... Why does it need to exist?" I had no legitimate answer.

I'm just glad The Open was on this morning when I woke up and not SportsCenter. By habit, when I crawl out of bed in the morning, I turn on the TV and go straight to SportsCenter.

That split nanosecond between me powering on my TV and the image displaying on said TV went by in extremely super duper slow motion. In that blink of an eye, I had time to remember thanks to my Facebook timeline, that the "most heroic speech of all time" was delivered on the ESPY's last night.

In that split nanosecond, my brain processed the comment, "OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!", but then the image came on and there was Jordan Spieth on the 13th hole at St. Andrews and I let out a huge sigh of relief.

If Jenner had been the first thing I saw this morning when I turned on my TV, I probably would have ran head first into a brick wall at Usain Bolt speed.

Anyways, apparently Harvick won the Best Driver award, I guess. Anybody got a screencap of what Erica Enders Stevens looked like last night? That's really the only thing from the ESPY's I want to see. If it's anything like the way she looked at the NHRA banquet, it's gotta be must see.

Edit: Never mind. Found one myself...

Lmao. I like the SportsCenter duo of Stan and Neil better than the jobber duo to Jay and Dan on FS Live. Jay and Dan are only on on the weekends anymore it seems like, soooo...

Last year, I really thought NBCSN had something going with their highlights show "The Lights", but it just disappeared into thin air.

Their constant LeBron butt-kissing seemed to turn me away.

If the Seahawks (MNF) or Mariners (SNB) are on those are really the only times I'll watch ESPN. It just isn't what it used to be when many of us were younger. FOX Sports 1 is far and away the better choice.

I feel like if it wasn't for ESPN, LeBron and the NBA would barely be talked about.

Possible chance some teams could be moving away from the Mooresville/Lake Norman area due to the new toll lanes project on Interstate 77 that will span from center city Charlotte to Mooresville. Really hope the toll lanes don't happen.
