But that was just a one year deal. He'd have to stash him for a few years and the difference here is I doubt NAPA will want to be "stashed" on a lower tier team for a bit.

A lower tier team that's won two of the last four championships. It's good enough for Chase and NAPA. Neither has achieved god status in NASCAR yet.

Everyone except Kahne fans are similarly bewildered. Maybe they just wanted to maintain their pretty boy quota intact to piss off Kurt.

Jeff's not retiring till he gets that fifth championship. He's still as good as anyone out there and I don't see him going anywhere in the next 3 years.

What in the world are you talking about?

Kurt called the Hendrick drivers a bunch of pretty boys after Jimmie wrecked him at Pocono in 2010 or whenever it was.

I think he's referring to SHR, and the fact that if NAPA can spend a few pretty damn dry years at MWR, they can afford to spend them pretty much *anywhere* Rick Hendrick thinks Chase Elliott can perform (whether that's SHR or not, I have no idea).

Unless Kurt is gone from Stewart-Haas, there's no room for him there and it would be a damn shame if he ended up with Harry Scott unless that team becomes another SHR but I highly doubt that happens. Pretty sure Hendrick wants him under the HMS banner.

I dunno, all this speculation about where Chase will end up might all be for naught - the explanation might be way simpler than "where will he be", and might be more like "who will he replace at Hendrick?"

Jimmie's contract is up at the end of 2015... so what's more likely - Jeff retiring, or Jimmie ending up somewhere else in 2016?

Jeff Gordon to RFR in 2016, sponsored by Baby Ruth.

Chase Elliott to MWR in a deal brokered by Hendrick, sponsored by NAPA.

What about taking Jamie McMurray's spot at Ganassi?

Bill starts his own team and he drives the NAPA #9 Ford until NAPA reduces sponsorship in 3 years and Coors jumps on to sponsor. NASCAR then approves the 1985 Ford Thunderbird for competition.

There are Hendrick-related options for Chase Elliott in the event that Gordon isn't retiring any time soon.

Ganassi's got the Hendrick engines, but it's not exactly a "satellite" team like Stewart-Haas. As for SHR, the only person I see leaving there within the next few years is Danica, but since sponsorship will probably never be a problem for her, I'm not so sure about that, and I don't think he'd but Chase in an HScott (or whatever) car, either.

What other Hendrick-affiliated teams are there? Am I missing any?

Could Jr Motorsports jump up to cup?

I'll bet there's a performance clause in Khane's contract. One more year in Busch for Chase, allowing the rest of the HMS contingent to figure out what they're doing.

In between his family, his back and the fact NASCAR is seemingly engineered to not reward him another championship no matter how good he is, I can see him retiring soon.

Autodrome Granby is trying to get a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race for next year, alot of drivers are all in for it. It would be first dirt race for the series.

That would be pretty cool, I'd probably go if they pair it with some good support classes.

In the what the hell ever category...

Apparently Stenhouse's team committed a level 3 severity infraction prior to qualifying last week at Homestead... guess Ricky didn't want to miss another race and leave his sweetheart out there on the track all by herself...
