I don't think anyone is surprised there...

Speaking of Burton, lots of talk about people wanting him in the booth for NBC in 2015... am I the only one that doesn't want him there? I mean he is very smart and knows what he's talking about but he comes off rather boring to me.

If he turns out to be like Ricky Craven, who seems boring but actually somehow kicked ass in the booth with his observations and insight, I'd be ok with it but my initial reaction is the same as yours.

edit: also, it would be better if he sounded more like Ward, for the lulz.

I think Jeff called a Nationwide/Busch race at Kansas, can't put a finger on the year but I feel like it was 04/05.

Edit: Actually it was Chad Knaus in the booth, oddly enough. And he wasn't too exciting.

But does any notice the HUGE crowd that showed up for a Nationwide race?

That was also back in the days where separate races weren't sold separately and you ended up with tickets to them all. So you either sold off the races you didn't want to go to or you were there for anything making laps. Joliet was the same way. The IRL and BGN races were always a sellout too.. they had to be.. but not everybody who bought a ticket showed up.

That, and the style of racing in BGN a decade ago was, you know.... good.

In the "I didnt see that coming" section; Swan Racing will expand to two full time teams for Cole Whitt AND Parker Kligerman. Might get a few surprise finishes out of that team next year.

2014 Cup Rookie class:

Kyle Larson
Austin Dillon
Parker Kligerman
Justin Allgaier
Cole Whitt
Michael Annett

best ever yet

Also, NBC has announced that Jeff Burton will be the first member of its NASCAR broadcast booth.

First off I personally really like Rick Allen and always wanted to see him make it to Cup! Wouldn't mind seeing Phil Parsons as well. They we're boss at commentating the finish of the Truck race at Tally. And second, yeah will be a first year jitter for Parker but he had a top 20 in his debut in that car, he could bring that team up a big notch. Dammit, wanted to be done with NASCAR after this shit year, but talks of drastic changes to the aero and maybe the best Rookie class EVER?!?! I now am pumped for February...Just apart of all of us I guess.

Reminder that the 18th place car Parker Kligerman drove at Texas for Swan was a Ganassi chassis from 2008.

I find Rick Allen to be extremely obnoxious. There's a difference between sounding genuinely excited over something and just screaming things at random intervals.

Well, it's between him, Bestwick, and Alexander.

All the more reason to wish Shaheen is in the booth.

Fuckin Rick Allen sucks so much .... on a restart on lap 39 of 500..... AND THEY"RE COMING TO THE GREEEN FLAGGGG!!!@#@*()&@#!!

Bestwick deserves it over the Allen and Alexander every day of the week plus 1. And I agree with Tommy... Bestwick > Shaheen > Allen/Alexander

In other news, Richard Petty Motorsports hired Dakota Armstrong as it's full time Nationwide driver next year.

What happened to Ryan Truex?
