So apparently Berlin Raceway's "biggest announcement in track history" is the cast of Duck Dynasty showing up do autographs and be grand marshalls in August. Yay.

Brad is spouting off at the mouth because he's getting beat, realtively soundly, by the very teams he's pissing in the wind at.

He won the championship, team switched manufacturers and I suspect expected to come out of the gate kicking ass and taking names but when that hasn't happened, instead of going back to the shop and working your ass off he goes online and bitches to make excuses as to why they're getting beat.

Penske has less money and fewer resources then Hendrick or Gibbs? On what planet. Roger could buy and sell both their asses without the help of Miller and Shell.

I love Brad, but son, put on your big boy pants and shut the fuck up. You want the respect a Champion deserves then carry yourself like a Champion and go beat their asses on the track.

ISC has approved the Daytona International Speedway frontstretch redevelopment plan, featuring that shitty photoshop that will become a reality (or close to).

Daytona International Speedway Press Release wrote:
International Speedway Corporation approved funding to redevelop the frontstretch of Daytona International Speedway, the Company's 54-year-old flagship motorsports facility, to enhance the overall experience for its fans, marketing partners and the motorsports industry. This historic, multi-year project will break ground on July 5, 2013, and is targeted for completion in January 2016, in time for the 54th Rolex 24 At Daytona and the 58th DAYTONA 500. The redevelopment is expected to cost between $375 million to $400 million, excluding capitalized interest. The Company expects to fund the redevelopment from cash on hand, cash from its operations and may use borrowings on its credit facility for a limited period of time to even out cash flow.

Was just about to upload a pic, looks completely non-daytona in my opinion. Kind of sad.

There is no way in hell they will sell enough tickets to fill that many seats.

I still love how out of scale pit road is in that photo. They're practically ants compared to the cars.

Apparently seating capacity will go down to just 101,000 since part of the renovations will be to get rid of the backstretch grandstands.

Well the backstretch grandstands were only used during the 500 in recent years anyway plus they had reduced the number of seats there as well. No real loss there. My concern is the price of a ticket now.

Maybe while they're at it they can build a better short oval, maybe incorporating the tri-oval or something.

Or, you know, let them run the full track like the good old Goody's Dash days. Just sayin'

I shudder to think how a late model stock car would handle a high-speed impact with a wall at a superspeedway, SAFER or not.

At least give us a K&N Pro East/West combo race on the full-course using old superspeedway cars. Couldn't be any worse than your typical ARCA snoozefest/wreckfest.

If they wanted something similar to this years layout, why couldn't they just use the run off area between turn 4 and the tri oval?

They've got some sort of unpaved oval on the outside of T1 still.

I'm sure they want it inside the track rather than outside.

It's a flat track they use for dirt karts and I think flat track bikes.

They moved the kennel club a few miles from the track a couple of years ago.

NBC wants to cover 3 ARCA short track events this year and Salem is apparently confirmed.
