Strong rumors on Twitter say that Kurt Busch could move to the 78 as soon as Charlotte in 3 weeks.

Regan said in an interview today that he is in the car for sure thru Dega and the team hasn't told him what's happening after that.

What has Regan done to deserve this?

Statistically, being worse than KuBu.

DON'T quote me on that, please.

I will, because he isn't. Regan Smith is 2 spots above KuBu in the standings.

This season, yes. Career-wise, no. So Tommy's half right.

If Furniture Row drops Regan before the season ends, I hope they fail miserably.

I'm implying Cup stats, so yeah...

If your going off this year, they'd actually be close to even since Kurt was suspended that one race earlier this year.

Yeah, they replaced their driver with someone who's performed about the same but also managed to get kicked out of the sport for the week. Can't question that logic.

I'd kick Regan to the curb for a former Cup champ with multiple wins too.

As would I. The 78 gets much more support from RCR than the 51 gets from HMS. Kurt could ge that car in the top 20 imo. Kurt even said that he'll have full access to the RCR shop in NC.

really sad. RIP :flag:

Quote:
Sad News - Chris Economaki: The Dean of American Motorsports Journalism has died. Chris Economaki, who began selling single copies of National Speed Sport News at age 14 and eventually became the publication's editor, a position he held for 60 years, died early [Friday] morning at age 91. His column, the Editor's Notebook, was the most read feature in National Speed Sport News for six decades, and while Economaki's contribution has been minimal in recent years, the Notebook, as it is called by readers, continues to be the most meaningful read in the newspaper, which debuted in 1934 when Economaki was 13 years old. Economaki was also well known for his unique, recognizable voice, which he used first as a track announcer and later through nearly 40 years on television. He worked with ABC's Wide World of Sports, he was with CBS and ESPN, and it can be said he was one of the catalysts in bringing racing to television. It is not an oversimplification to say he knew racing and knew how to speak about it. Economaki worked races around the world for ABC through the 1983 season when he made the jump to CBS where he appeared through the mid 1990s. He also worked worldwide Formula One telecasts for ESPN in 1987 and 1988. Through the years Economaki has received countless awards including the NASCAR Award of Excellence, and been elected to numerous Halls of Fame, most notably the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his wife Tommye and is survived by his two daughters - Corinne and Tina - and two grandchildren. Arrangements are pending.(National Speed Sport News)(9-28-2012)

NASCAR's Cup testing ban is over:
Quote:
For the first time since 2008, NASCAR will allow limited Sprint Cup testing at tracks where teams race at next year.

NASCAR officials confirmed Saturday that each Sprint Cup organization will be able to test at four tracks in 2013, plus all teams will be invited to the annual pre-season test at Daytona International Speedway.

The four tests are per organization, not per car.

Thus, the four-car Hendrick Motorsports team will only be able to test at four tracks, the same as any single-car team.

However, it makes sense for Hendrick to test at four tracks and its affiliate, Stewart-Haas Racing, to test at four different tracks, for example. Similar scenarios might exist for Joe Gibbs Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing, Roush Fenway Racing and Penske Racing, and Richard Childress Racing and Furniture Row Racing.

NASCAR banned testing at tracks where NASCAR-sanctioned races are held in 2009, as a cost-cutting measure. Teams have still been able to test at places like Road Atlanta, Nashville Superspeedway and the Milwaukee Mile, none of which hosts any races in NASCAR’s top three divisions.

That'll bring the organizations and the satellite teams closer together I think.

I believe they run on a GM metric frame and are kind of a cross between a super sportsman and super late model.
