They won't stop until DW and Mikey legally change their names to their Twitter handles.

And considering those two, that wouldn't surprise me.

I'm kind of surprised Mikey didn't change his name to reflect a sponsor of some sort by now.

Military sponsorships could go away..if: The sponsorships of #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr. [National Guard] and #39-Ryan Newman [U.S. Army] (as well as the Air Force deal with #43-Aric Almirola) could be in jeopardy as military sponsorships of motorsports have come into question in the U.S. House of Representatives. The House Appropriations Committee approved an amendment Thursday to the 2013 defense appropriations bill that would prohibit funding of sponsorships of professional sports or sporting events. The amendment, passed by a voice vote and sponsored by Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) and Betty McCollum (D-Minn.), states that: "None of the funds made available in this act may be used to sponsor professional or semiprofessional motorsports, fishing, wrestling or other sports." The bill still needs to be passed by the House and then the provision would have to make it through any negotiations with leaders from the Senate and its defense appropriations bill. Last year, McCollum introduced an amendment banning motorsports sponsorships on the House floor and it was voted down 281-148.(Sporting News and USA Today)(5-18-2012)

Kez was having a "discussion" on Twitter with someone the other day about it, the National Guard spends stupid amounts of money on motorsport sponsorship ($1.6Mil per race with Jr they said) so it's no surprise someone in Congress has picked up on it.

When your Country is bordering on bankruptcy, is it really wise to spend hundreds of millions of $$ on sponsoring a race car?

Considering the military seems to be going into a reduced size with the Iraq withdrawal, this might get some legs after all.

Who, by the way, is the congressman representing southeast Georgia, including the Valdosta area. From what I've seen, he's dumb as a brick.

I love Twitter but anyone who isn't already on it must be seriously pissed off with how Twitter heavy the NASCAR broadcasts have been this year.

It's just lazy journalism "hey, shall we send a reporter down to get assaulted by Kyle Busch? Nahhh....we'll just read his angry tweeting out instead"

Well, maybe in that case it's saved a few bruises and hurt feelings :p

Still, Twitter is supposed to be a compliment to the live broadcast, some extra info, not the meat and drink of it!

3 cars for the win, 25 cars for filler.

I really hate what that series has become. I realize Tony Novotny didn't give much of a shit once he realized NASCAR was going to buy it, but it's fucking embarrassing for the supposed national stock-car tour to have issues cracking 20 cars for most of the oval races.

While it looks like an actual stock car that is ready for 600 miles in the Coca-Cola 600 this weekend, it’s actually a full-size clay model that was produced by the Design Center in Dearborn.

They look more and more like the british and australian touring cars than an american racecar. God awful ugly. I guess if they draft and pass and put on good races I can overlook the ugliness. That's how i felt about the COT and it sure failed to produce.
