Ehh... I guess it's probably the best Cup ride available to him, although I really think that's debateable. Front Row's three cars run about as well as Baldwin's single car, so with TBR going to two teams, it makes you wonder how they'll do (about as well as they did with Bodine in the 35, perhaps). Hopefully, that isn't the case, though.

I like what Sadler did last year, honestly. If there's a great opportunity in the Nationwide or Truck series, take it. I think if it were me, I'd rather run near the front, no matter what series, rather than struggle to compete in another.

Its all about the $$$$ dude....you dont make any money in the truck series unless you have a sponsor and in the nationwide you barely make any money if you dont have a sponsor....where as in cup, your gunna make money all day long no matter what.

Richard Petty Motorsports announced today that Aric Almirola will drive the legendary #43 Ford Fusion in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition beginning in 2012. Almirola has made 35 starts in the Sprint Cup Series, his most recent stint coming in 2010 when he finished the last five races of the season in the #9 Ford. During the final race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Almirola posted a career-high, fourth-place effort. Almirola drove a JR Motorsports entry [#88 Chevy] in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2011 and capped off a successful season with a fourth-place finish in the championship point standings. "One of the things I am most excited about is to have the chance to drive a car as iconic as the #43," stated Almirola. "There is so much history surrounding that number and to have my name above the door will be really special for me. This is the first real opportunity I've had to drive in the Cup Series full time. Last year the #43 team had a lot of speed and was competitive on a weekly basis. Greg Erwin is a great crew chief and I'm excited to work with him. Everyone at Richard Petty Motorsports has a lot of enthusiasm and drive and I'm really looking forward to getting to work."
Almirola will join a team that is poised to compete for a spot in the 2012 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Paired with veteran Crew Chief Greg Erwin, Almirola will get behind the wheel for a team that earned one top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 2011 en route to a 15th-place finish in the owner point standings.

JR Motorsports' flagship team will compete for a NASCAR Nationwide Series championship with one of the sport's up-and-coming stars, as Cole Whitt has been tabbed to drive the company's flagship #88 Chevy in 2012. Whitt, a 20-year-old native of Alpine, Calif., will also compete for Sunoco Rookie-of-the-Year honors. He comes to JR Motorsports from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, where he finished ninth in last year's championship standings with one pole, two top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. To date he is the youngest driver ever to win the USAC (United States Auto Club) National Midget championship, as his title-winning effort in 2008 put him alongside esteemed former USAC national champions such as Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne. The signing of Whitt completes the 2012 driver line-up for JR Motorsports, which will compete in Nationwide Series competition with Whitt in the#88 Chevy, Danica Patrick in the #7 Chevy, and Earnhardt Jr. in select races in the #5 Chevy.(JR Motorsports)(1-4-2012)

Yeah, but money for what? 20 sports cars? Lavish houses? I mean, I know the housing situation is absolute junk right now, but c'mon. Also, I don't see how going from a sponsor-less 43rd place car is any worse than going into a sponsored top 10 ride for a team owned by Dale Jr., or Kevin Harvick, or any of the big name owners who also own in lower series.

Maybe it's because I'm a simple-minded person from a simple-minded part of the world, but if I made the kind of money a Nationwide series driver made, I'd be all set, man! But hey, that's just me. I think pride is valued more than money, but then again, to some people, money is pride. heh

Reutimann deserves better, imo.

Unless you consider the 43 a better ride what other options where there?

God I hate being the one that spoils hope but come on, Reutimann doesn't have age on his side. He is a good guy but not really a proven record. As much as people agree with Shell getting rid of Kurt, that is another deciding factor in Reutimann not getting a big time ride. What do you guys expect? Sponsors have final say. They don't want an aging driver with average finishes representing them. Sucks but reality. He had his chance, time for the younger guys, as unfortunate as it is. Welcome to todays world. To be honest, I never understood how a few decent drives in trucks made Reutimann a Cup driver.

I think you missed my point, which isn't that big of a surprise. The point is that Reutimann is a pretty underrated driver and deserves a better ride than the Tommy Baldwin team.
