At least Lally was a somewhat respectable rookie candidate (*cough* Kevin Conway *cough*). That drift he had at Charlotte in qualifying was mint!

So was this. :D

That's from Bristol. RCR as a whole struggled pretty bad that night.

Kurt Busch fined 50,000 dollars for his antics with Jerry Punch.

Fined should be replaced with Fired and Kurt Busch should be replaced with Busch Brothers.

Max Papis brought a Gibbs Cup car to Monza, drove on the oval and the GP layout, though with a bunch of chicanes set up for the rally cars.

Even had lights for night running.

Almost forgot, he took Zanardi for a ride too.

I'm not a Papis fan by any means, but that is ballsy as fuck to get on the old oval like that and floor it.

Stewart-Haas just made it official that they hired Steve Addington to be Tony's crew chief next year.

Quote:
UPDATE 2: Steve Addington, winner of 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races as a crew chief, has been named to the same position for three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart and the #14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 team of Stewart-Haas Racing effective immediately. The Spartanburg, S.C., native is only the third crew chief Stewart has had during his 13-year Sprint Cup career, and it comes just a week after Stewart captured the 2011 Sprint Cup title. Addington replaces Darian Grubb, who served as Stewart's crew chief since the inception of SHR in 2009. "Darian was a very important part of the success we've had at Stewart-Haas Racing," Stewart said. "I'm very proud of everything he helped accomplish, especially this year when we all rallied to win the championship. He's a great person and I know he'll continue to be successful in this sport."(TrueSpeed Communications/Stewart-Haas)(11-28-2011)

I don't get the part about firing Grubb to begin with, but Addington seems like a good replacement.

At least Tony's more tolerable, unlike Kurt Busch.

Yeah, Grubb is the superior crew chief IMO, but Addington is as good a replacement as Smoke's gonna get.

Also, those Papis videos are ridiculously awesome. Thanks for those!!!

Grubb being removed was probably more about relationship than performance. I bet Tony's as big a pain in the ass to deal with over a season as Kurt Busch is.

Probably a bit more nerve racking being Tony's CC since he can fire you.

Kinda wonder where Grubb will end up at. Not gonna be hard for him to find a job, that much is certain.
