fucking morons.

I've always kinda wanted to see Nationwide or Trucks run at the Brickyard but not at the cost of losing a date at IRP

That's fucking stupid. IRP's one of the two best short tracks in the country.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway is expected to announce Wednesday the addition of a Nationwide Series race to its 2012 Brickyard 400 weekend. The race will be held on Saturday afternoon, a day after NASCAR's Grand-Am Series will compete on the road course, according to sources familiar with the announcement. Losing a Nationwide Series race will be Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park and O'Reilly Raceway Park. IMS officials have been asking for a Nationwide race for several years and finally are getting one at the expense of one of the best short-track races on the Nationwide circuit. Lucas Oil Raceway has a capacity of 30,000, and apparently NASCAR and the track couldn't agree on a sanction fee to keep the Nationwide event at the 0.686-mile track. The track might still have a Camping World Truck Series event but without the doubleheader feature of the trucks and Nationwide, it remains to be seen whether the track wants to do all the preparations for just one event. The track has been a part of the Nationwide Series since the series debuted in 1982, with Morgan Shepherd winning the track's first race. Kroger has sponsored the race each year, making it the longest continuous race entitlement in the sport.(SceneDaily.com)(7-5-2011)

Criminal. Totally criminal. :x

Well, there goes my smile for today. I cant believe IRP is getting dropped, such an awesome track. And I mean I get that IMS circuit is a great track, but seeing NW and NCWTS on it is going to be both extremely dull and extremely unnecessary. If they're really going to force this, they should have it as the road course, least that way it won't be mind numbingly boring all race

IRP's so awesome that even with the Nationwide Series being as awful as it has for the last few years, it never failed to produce a great race. Fucking idiots.

Indy is probably the least exciting circuit of the year after Pocono and Fontana it seems pretty silly to take NNS there

Gonna look great on TV, 250,000 seat track(am I right on that number), with what, 30,000 fans showing up at the most? NNS isn't that big of a draw, even with Cup guys running, and the Nationwide Seriessure as hell belongs at IRP, hell, I'd rather see Cup at IRP than NNS at IMS.

I thought I heard IRP's NWS race date was being moved to earlier in the season, but that was a couple months ago so might be out of date info.

^^ what he said.

I assume these were taken before she became Miss Sprint Cup, but I'm kind of having a hard time picturing her as Miss Sprint Cup (yes I am looking at her face when trying to remember ;) )

OK answered my own question, this is her right? (SFW)
Image
So she was sacked cos of these...? that's a little hypocrite isn't it seeing as what the job of Miss Sprint Cup involves.

Yeah but NASCAR IS FAMBLY VALUES HURR DI DURR

Re the move from IRP to IMS, besides the obvious fact they're replacing a great race with a guaranteed shit one, way to go NASCAR for organizing one more weekend where NNS follows cup and gets drowned in buschwhacker douches. Fuck me, the guys running the joint must have taken out insurance on it, that's the only way to explain their sheer determination to burn the thing to the ground.
