Just cancel the whole weekend, and Abu Dhabi as well.

That is just absolutely ridiculous. If ever there was cause for a driver boycott it is driving at thise absurd times.

One thing is for sure, this race got people talking. We're already on page 6 and its only friday and the cars barely ran any laps. :whistling:

After the Brawn GP docu, I was checking the 2009 Australian thread again. 144 pages, around 20 before FP1 even started. Around 10 during FP1 alone. And not even spam, but news and updates about everything happening that weekend.

Where did we lose that?

Why didn't they drive the F1 2-seater car around yesterday? Or Brad Pitts movie car? Would have given them a clue to these problems maybe

Possibly wouldn't have been running as low as the current cars, and maybe not with the same ground effects that lifted the cover in the first place?

In fairness, that was the first race of the season with new rules and all the intrigue around Brawn's testing pace. This is the arse end of a painfully dull season.

90% of the members that used to visit TBK have disappeared. So no wonder F1 threads get a fraction of the number of pages they used to get. Look at Japanese GP 2023 topic: 9 pages and even there my screencaps probably take a whole page :(

Going to miss FP2 since I have errands to do. Stupid for them to drive so late. I think it's even dangerous as surely the drivers will feel sleepy and tomorrow they're all sleep-deprived. Should have just scheduled FP2 and FP3 for tomorrow as there's no support series.

We got older and wiser. Work, family, kids and mortgages.

Also other forms of social media thesedays. Plus that Brawn 09 thing was something super unusual

You do know 24 hour races exist right? I'm sure these guys can handle it

They've also adjusted their sleep regime to suit the hours too

Grid penalty for Sainz. Now that is a farcical penalty.

No kidding about the sleep deprivation. It's almost 5 AM here on the east coast and I'm only up for this farce because I'm having trouble sleeping. Half, hell, most of the home market for this would be in bed already.

Sainz Will get a grid penalty because he had to use a new engine and the rules have no force majeure clause to give him dispensation

Well, we are almost all old fucks who can speak of the times of TBK, Crashin and Crasherama/Fastlane. After social media and video sharing platforms began emerging. Did the entire format of forums like this reach their best-before date.

As a plus, I hope forums will get some sort of comeback for their authenticity. Because of the colossal influx of content bots reposting stuff everywhere. Even reddit has totally collapsed in being a place with fresh new material.

So the last 5 hours have been peak F1.

I've spent it watching a stream of people doing roadworks on traffic cameras, read that the fans/vips have been booted out and that Carlos has had a grid penalty waiver denied. Ooft.

Kicking out the fans is a fucking joke though. I'm guessing the track employees/security etc have gone home?

Probably, America might be America but I'm sure a lot of the Fan Zone/Security/Volunteer workers have working time regulations and required rest before working again.
