I'm sure I'm missing some loophole, but how does Giovinazzi classify as a "young driver" for FP1 running?
Or are Haas just running him as a "reserve driver"? And if so, aren't they still obliged to run a "young driver" in at least 2 FP1s?

No loophole, it's odd they were running him tbh, and any chances he may have had at getting the seat are probably gone now

Welcome to being an Australian/New Zealand fan my friend. It just feels weird watching a race during the day time. That would take up my whole day lol.

yep, ALL F1 races in Europe/Middle East & Singapore are 1-2am start times on Monday morning, so it's quite nice to have one or two a year that are actually watchable.... oh no..... that's right, this race is at 8am on Monday morning, so I'll be at work

Qualifying is so late probably because of college football (Longhorns vs Oklahoma State should be finishing just before Q1 starts). Saturday is always about college football in USA this time of the year.

I think the post-on-track concert might have something to do with it too - as it flows over to that directly after for those at-track, they did the same thing tonight with FP2 with the Green Day concert afterwards.

also can't wait for the Vegas race to go up against PAC 12 After Dark next year

Not something I thought I would say since the past 8 years, but here goes: one thing that would make this race nice and refreshing, is a Mercedes driver victory.

Not looking good so far though

Nah, I´m hoping Mercedes can´t manage to score a single win this year. That will teach them for having it too easy for the past years.
And then next year a fast Red Bull, a reliable Ferrari and an improved Mercedes battling it out all season.

I can settle for that, but I secretly want Hamilton to keep his one win per season streak and retire. It's such a difficult one to achieve, as nowadays rookies start in lower teams first as part of the academy thing.

The Russell victory could wait next year I guess but really, he deserves one before going full villain.

I believe it was already established that Las Vegas Raiders will have a bye on the Vegas GP weekend next year? Obviously these things are not unrelated ;)

His complaining about the brakes while the team states everything is right, has an unpleasant Hill '99 ring to it.

New Engine for Leclerc, as if this race didn't need any extra help of being dull

It'll be fun to see him fly through the field, but Congrats Max Verstappen, 2022 American Grand Prix winner

Is it me or are they running more this session since yesterday’s FP2 pretty much was useless due to the 2023 tyre test?
