Monaco '84, Portugal '86, Donington '93, Barcelona '96, Monaco '97, Spa '98, Fuji '07, Canada '11...

Formula 1 history would be amputated of its most glorious history if today's cowards were in charge.

They should never use that footage for promotion, out of shame.

Standing water and rivers everywhere. Can't race with that and today simply isn't going to happen.

Why are we so concerned about Gasly hitting tractor? He should be aware there are marshals on track recovering Sainz's and Albon's cars. Their safety is of the utmost important. He shouldn't drive that fast, even if it was under SC in dry conditions, because obviously they need tractors to recover cars.

In this situation its possible for everyone to be at fault

Gasly shouldn't have been driving that fast (likely trying to keep temperature in his tyres tho, so too slow is in some ways more dangerous as tyre temp drop in the wet=gaurenteed spins) but the FIA shouldn't have been sending tractors out in those conditions while any car was on track...especially as they were about to red flag the race anyway.

Red it, get everyone into the pit lane, THEN send the tractors out

I hope they can reach a final decision soon because as much as I love racing I love even more to sleep

Apparently liberty wants to move the race to April since this is the rain season but Japan refuses so far

It's a farce alright. I bet this is the best weather we'll have for the next two hours at least.

Get these Liberty clowns OUT of F1 asap...

isn't this more of an FIA problem and not liberty? not that it changes much, just wondering

Suzuka was the last race this year I was looking forward to. And it comes to this :(
Well, of the old-school tracks Interlagos is still left. But as we know, rain is common there as well.
No wonder they want to many GPs in the Middle-East. F1 is effectively indoor sport nowadays.

Ah thanks, didn't know it was possible, it's been so long I just assumed that's the way things have to be!

When I first started on the internet, putting your comment above the quote "top posting" was seen as the height of rudeness!

I never could work out why that was but, I guess it's a habit that's always stuck with me!

None of the drivers required immediate medical attention so time wasn’t important

While I totally agree the need to be extra cautious in such conditions, he was probably following the delta on his dash no?

If it's too wet it's too wet, not much anyone can do about that, but F1 needs to do something to protect the fans in this situation. I feel really sorry for the fans today and at Spa last year. I'm struggling to think of any other event, sporting or otherwise, that costs so much to attend with a very real risk of being completely cancelled with no offer of rescheduling or a refund.

what upsets me more is that this kind of situation only happens at the iconic tracks. Abu Dhabi and Losail will never be graced with sandstorms when we need to so FIA could deem unsafe to race

Did they even get any support races here today?

Those almost get hit by rockets but we shouldn’t be concerned about it at all and all is under control
