A good strategy and a late pass for Max Verstappen over Lewis Hamilton allowed for a victory that increased his championship lead

Wish I had something else to do, because this is the weekend to skip.
Maybe a tablet of Dramamine would help to cope with the race. Image

Great to watch F2 here usually.

Then a nice early night sleep for me, watching the YouTube highlights on waking up :)

The only positive is there is no sprint race this weekend. In other news, this track sucks. Over to you, Jerry.

50 years since the last French GP at Charade. Without question one of the most challenging circuits ever raced.

Now it's the stripes at Ricard where errors are not punished.

funny you asked. Before Paul Ricard nearly all french gp circuits were narrow country roads blending all the challenging bits from Spa and Nordschleife. Then this beverage magnate built this track in the driest part of southern France so the country could be up to modern standarts

interesting that 15 years later the track standarts could not cope with the high powered turbo cars

With shots like this, I would suggest dropping some acid to ramp up the enjoyment :flag:

Why couldn't this be a weekend where the BTCC clashed instead of leaving us to this abhorrance :yuk:

So, I know 2 people who've been to this race. They say the track does not hurt your eyes in person as much as it seems on TV.

I categorically refuse these two reliable eyewitness accounts, and maintain that this track deserves to be carpet-bombed by a bunker buster:

See how satisfying that cement being blown apart looks? Now imagine some blue and red lines on it.

If you live in the south of France, or plan to visit the area, it's a nice location to watch a GP. You could go to Barcelona, but this one is in summer vacation so more convenient for most people.

As someone from Paris area, and chauvinistic arguments aside, I wouldn't bother to go just for F1, when Spa or Zandvoort or even Silverstone are arguably closer geographically, and all those tracks are better-looking.

The talk of the weekend is going to be track limits. If only there were solutions to keep drivers going off track...

Speaking of Charade

Though on this lap he misses 90% of the apexes, still great reference. Maybe there's a good real onboard video out there...

Closest you will get of the old track. It is such a Grand Turismo PS1 racetrack!
