Weekend started out so tasty with the Friday qualifying, unexpectedly decent sprint race and a juicy first lap...but ends up very dull and anticlimactic, a shame.

You would think he would be a bit more circumspect considering the crash. He is carrying on like a bit of a twat isn't he.

I'll usually defend Lewis on these things but the fact that he came back to win after putting his main title rival in hospital is a massive injustice. I hope Max is back for Hungary but this might have just decided the championship

The lack of humility in this situation is really frustrating.

And that’s why so many dislike him. Utter disgraceful behavior. I changed channels. Didn’t want to hear his interview. Lemme guess they asked if it was a hard race after that terrible unjust penalty and best crowd ever blablablabla hope max is ok blablablabla

Schumacher style dirty win right there. Should have been a black flag for Hamilton

Ouff Hamilton in full villain mode...laying the blame squarely on Verstappen lol Surely even from the cockpit he would've had to know his involvement in the incident was dodgy at best.

Yeah, Hammy is an asshole.

Oh, fuck him. "Max is aggressive and didn't give me any room and I was fully alongside."

Fuck that twat. Now I'm emotionally invested to call for a 2 race ban of that dipshit.

Hamilton:"Max is always aggressive, I was absolutely along side him. I accept the penalty but I don't agree with it"

Race ban for bringing the sport in disrepute

I'm not going to say the win was unfair, Hamilton got a penalty (probably the right one - penalise the actions, not the consequences), overcame it and won. Fair enough. But man is it unsatisfying, and celebrating like this with not even an acknowledgment of Max... I dunno. Doesn't feel great.

I’m still fine with the penalty as-is. But Hamilton refusing to even understand and acknowledge that it was his mistake (and this his fault) is going to remove all sympathy for the moment when Max gets him back (unless he does something horrific). Pretty shameful way to come out of that.

Sick and tired of this spoiled entitlement twat. This is so bad I might actually cheer for Russell next season. And TBK knows I never cheer for Russell ;)

this is a disgrace

Mercedes should stop doing this shit to us and try to sell electric cars for old people instead. Bunch of twats

yes, I'm fucking pissed and I hope Red Bull place an appeal. Quite easy to shove a rival off and then be awarded with a home win

Post race behavior does it for me. It just shows the true Lewis. He will get a lot of boos the next few races.

I think that's the thing that frustrated me the most. In his post race celebration, Lewis gave no thought to Max's condition, or not wanting to win a race in that way. In fact, he still thinks he's the innocent party.

chicken shit move (and post race response) by Lewis

but I don't care if it's Lewis, Max or anyone else - we all know every racer on that track would of attempted the same move in that position

lol at Red Bull response as well

real problem here is that driver respect has decreased massively in general across most of motorsport, and that these land yacht cars are too big

Trying to be rational though, the penalty was probably fair. When was the last time a driver had a greater penalty for a first lap incident? It seems unjust because it was on a championship rival and could have resulted in injury. Should that result in a bigger penalty or should all contact be judged equally? That's a decision they need to make.

Do you think Lewis was more aggressive than usual because it was Max? I just wonder if the first laps of Imola and Spain were on his mind, or even the way they touched down to Brooklands. I love that the two championship leaders are racing so hard, but I feel as if this has been coming for a while.
