hope this year has a good & safe week of racing

surely there will be idiotic crashes caused by over-aggressive blocking tho

I'll watch because it's Daytona.

No doubt it will be a stupid finish under yellow, caused by desperate blocking. Either that, or five cars battling for the win because everyone else has already crashed - also due to stupid blocking.

Can we still call it "Speedweeks" when the entire schedule is just 5 days?

when counting the 24 and the various short tracks that have been running big races over the past 2 weeks - I'd say yes on a overall status. It sucks to see the NASCAR portion get smaller & smaller every year though.

From what I've seen recorded, there has been at least 1 race scheduled each day in Florida from January 22 to February 14. Overall total of scheduled race nights before rainouts is at 72 (tracks of that count: Daytona, New Smyrna, Volusia, Ocala, East Bay, North Florida, Auburndale & Hendry County. I believe Citrus County, Showtime and some other tracks in Central Florida has also had races scheduled) - around 40 different series/divisions & 20 to 25 different car types among that count

I take that COVID and the Super Bowl have something to do with the schedule changes this year.

Slapshoes always does a great job of making me care about an upcoming NASCAR event that I otherwise couldn't give less of a shit about.

Something mentioned here I totally forgot about: the clash this year is on the road course! I might tune in since it's somewhat less likely 90% of the field will be taken out in one Dillon-initiated pileup.

From what I've been reading, it looks like the truck entry list is going to be very strong. They are expanding the field for the truck races with qualifying from 32 to 36 trucks this year. There might still be 10 trucks going home.
