I honestly wouldnt be surprised if Red Bull is both capable and willing to go all in with the engine even without a freeze.

Getting the rest to agree on that freeze is about as likely as Trump admitting the election was fair. So why are they spending so much time on it if its that unlikely? They're not that naive

RB won't quit if there isn't an engine freeze. It's just something they've taken from the Ferrari playbook.

I read on a gossipy-type motorsport site (so assume a degree of BS) that the sticking point in Hamilton's contract is money and power. He seems to want more money and a bigger stake in the team. Mercedes aren't too hot on the idea and a certain young British driver drove a torpedo through Hamilton's position when standing in for him.

I could certainly see why that would make the team a little less enthusiastic about agreeing unreservedly.

Yeah I’m edging loser and closer to the position where I wouldn’t be shocked if they suddenly announce Russell.

I guess I'm too poor to see why does he want more money. The power and control is quite understandable, specially on a dominant team, but he already have more money that he can spend

unless he diverts to charity or something like that

He's doing it to emulate his hero Senna, sign a race by race contract and we won't know if he's going to show up or George is going to drive until the Thursday press conference

Ditch all this poncy F1 shit and come to IndyCar, Lewis. The vibes are better here.

That could put him down the path of emulating Mansell, getting fat in the US, a return to F1 cut short by not being able to fit in an open wheel cockpit anymore, then sporadic appearances in the BTCC punctuated by massive accidents.

Fat Lewis would be the ultimate career turnaround, and somehow he would still be accused of being vain

Ohh a Hamilton/Mansell comparison. I love it.

Which one is the greater/more dislikable option....the drama queen twatness of a Mansell or the pretentious twatness of a Hamilton???

With a Mansell drama queen you can roll your eyes and be like "shut the fuck up Nige" and get nods of agreement, or at worse a "that's not very nice" but a pretentious Hamilton you have to be ready to be burnt on "social media" for being a racist, ignorant (insert what ever current SWJ issue there is) out of touch dinosaur.....hmmm.

Though to be honest, as much as I think Lewis is wanker, it would be tragic if every driver were like Bottas. Even when he is trying to be edgy it seems like he conducted a Gallop Poll to see what could be the most generic edgy thing he could say.

And yes, I realize that these "Hamilton bashing" posts are old hat and boring, but when you read between the tea leaves and the conclusion is his not signing yet is about money and power......how can you NOT make these posts.

Either way, should Hamilton "price himself out of the market" and not race this year, it would be sad to not have had a "farewell" race from him.

@3:05 is the money quote from Nige because it is just a tad embellished.

I like the TV caption at 2:42 - Nigel Mansell, An Unhappy Englishman

fat Hamilton is a sort of thing from a parallel universe where Schumacher didn't chopped other drivers off and Prost have a straight nose

Random fact I just learned: 2020 was the first season since 1992 that Ferrari had not led a lap. Albon had more with his one single lap led last year lol

meh nothing beats the Jean Pierre van Rossem story, that one should turn into a movie

plus they could use part of Giovanni Bonanno career as a plot, since he paved his way to a test with Benetton using Mafia ties
