The track never hosted an official F1 race despite being built in the 70's. It has grade 1 but it only hosted F1 testing. It is also the home of Ferrari Finale Mondiale and track days for Ferrari owners.

A track that doesn't host F1 usually, which means all the corners have actual names.

Mercedes will be back with a vengeance and absolutely destroy the field.

Having a hard time seeing how this will be a good race, but it will be fun to watch FR cars rip around some of these corners.

Seems to be a hard track for cars to follow each other and there's only one clear overtaking spot.

However, this isn't a track filled with tarmac run-off areas. I can see some drivers struggling with this and it is my only hope of something interesting. But it's good to see F1 in a new track nonetheless.

Wow I had no idea that my favorite corner on the track was also named after my favorite pasta.

Probably the most anticipated weekend ever since it was confirmed and after Zandvoort was cancelled. Looking forward to Friday and first onboard shots already.
Thanks to the gravel traps, we're bound to see frequent red flags and high probability for SC periods during the race. Not expecting Monza-esque surprises though, as Mercedes will dominate again.

Can't wait to see in what way can Bottas fuck up his race this weekend, while Hamilton wins by 23 seconds.

Those Arrabbiatas - closest thing to the old 130R corner :flag:

For me, while driving in a sim, the Arrabbiata's feel like a reverse version of the Spoon Curve actually. Very satisfying corner to get right.

The second one is like an improved version of Barcelona's turn 9.

The two corners before are just as good too. Casa Nova (downhill right) is Valentino Rossi's favourite corner.

The last corner Bucine is a great challenge especially on a bike. Let's see what F1 can do.

I think the speeds on the track map might just be off a tad. Paul Di Resta on commentary a few races back reckons that F1 cars might not go below 3rd - 4th gear.

Will be interesting to compare MotoGP laptimes to F1

Esteban Gutierrez has a video up on Motorsport of him driving this in the Mercedes sim. Turns 5-9 are flat all the way around and there is hardly any braking into turns 1 or 12. Looks like the only interesting things will be (as @

pointed out) how Bottas will mess up, and on which lap the Ferraris will break down.

Ferrari are running a special livery for their 1000th race, burgundy and number font from the Ferrari 125 they debuted with in the '50s. All jokes about the 125 being faster than their current car aside, I like this.

Wow. After all the hype of a "special" livery for this race and all they did was slightly change the shade of red and give the numbers a different outline. Yup, seems about right for Ferrari in 2020. Looks about the same level of thought, engineering and design they put into their engines this year too......
