I'd say concussion. Brain related injuries amongst the athletes are taken very seriously these days. And under those conditions, doctors could be afraid of internal bleeding in head, which we know was the case with Michael Schumacher.


It's great to see Ryan Newman wake and alert, smiling. Miraculous escape is what comes to my mind, even though NASCAR has done very good job with car and track safety which makes tragedies rare events. Thankfully.

If he was concussed, I’m pretty sure NASCAR will make him wait at least 7 days before clearing him to drive.

What a turnaround though. I was half-convinced he was dead Monday night. Now he’s released back into the wild on his own feet.

Yeah, that will be the only thing stopping him. He'll still have to be passed fit in order to drive.

This. All of this in this topic and this accident is what motorsports is about. We want the battle for the win, we know it might end in tears. We were almost sure that this was one of those time.
