grrrr, can't even come here and lament F1 now without having that abomination shoved in my face, at least that makes 4 fans of STD, don't think you're gonna save it even though you're the target audience, so yeah they will love it, Disco is not made for people who have watched Trek before, just like Captain Marvel isn't made for me according to the main star, so I won't be watching that either.

Having said that, the last episode wasn't bad, but unfortunately it doesn't make up for the canon breaking previous episode that introduced the comm badge a century too early.

My irk with STD is the time period it is set in and the Mary Sue main star, if it was set after Nemesis or Voyager, it would be easier to watch and accept, Doug Jones and Anton Mount are the only decent thing about it.

This is exactly what I didn't want to happen... :whistling:

If they keep his segment with a different presenter then I'm fine with it. Ted was a fuckwit. He was good when he was actually talking about the technicalities of the sport and what happened to so and so, but outside of that I found him to be cringe worthy and a complete moron.

Ted was actually OK in the ITV/BBC era, it was just like being cherry picked for Sky meant it went to his head and he became an insufferable ego monster from the on
Almost as if Sky had a meeting with him before they started and said "we're gonna pay you more and let you show more of your personality" without realising how much of a bad Idea that'd be...

You're the only person I know who didn't want it set after Nemesis. The latest rumour is it's done @

, all production put on hold until April, so everybody looses because someone wanted to make Star Wars and call it Star Trek.

As a lifelong Trekker, STD (snicker) looked like a hot mess, just like those AWFUL JJ Trek movies. /Rant

If they advertised it as prequel to the Abrams films it would have been better accepted. Would also explain all the lenseflare.

Plus I reckon it should have gone with a young Kirk instead. STD would suit being about him :whistling:

*DSC

It's very good

Canon is a curse

Every new trek that airs gets hated while it's on and then 5 years later the "You know, X series was underrated" posts start

They're adding 4 new series so even if DSC stops after series 2, it's been a success (doesn't look likely either)

This is the F1 thread.

F1 docu on Netflix...

imagine people watching it. Containing mostly the highlights. And thinking, "wow this is great".

And then tuning in on the Spanish Grand Prix...

Apparently Sky initially decided not to renew Ted's contract only to later change there mind.
