Not much on stake with WDC and WCC with their winners already defined. So we have to dig a bit to find what is at stake:

- Bottas fighting to avoid finishing the season behind Verstappen, what would be terrible for him
- Hulk is the top contender of the best of the rest (drivers) while Perez and KMag have a shot too
- Renault is very close to clinching the best of the rest (teams) too

Anything else?

I came to this thread thinking that there was no sentence more anticlimactic and boring than: "Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix".

I was wrong, there is at least one:

Quote:
Valtteri Bottas won an uneventful race

I am NOT watching this race.

See you down under F1 people. New regs that won't change jack shit, Mercedes locking out the front row and Leclerc P3.

Can't wait.

At least the Sheikhs open their wallet for the full european FIA support package, so with GP3 and F2 around the weekend wont be a complete waste of time.

hope the F2 cars wash the braking zones with oil and the FIA stewards don't notice it

It's Abu Dhabi. Those guys will recognize oil from a 2 km distance.

Hope to see good support races. Apart from that, nothing. Probably Bottas winning a bad boring race
Emotional for me as a long time Alonso fan, hope my new favourite Leclerc will do it next year!

Apart from being a race full of "lasts", I don't feel like it's much more than that.

From the top of my head:

- Raikkonen's last race with Ferrari
- Ricciardo's last race with Red Bull
- Sainz's last race with Renault
- Stroll's last race with Williams.

And what could probably be the last F1 start for Alonso, Ocon, Hartley, Sirotkin, Vandoorne and Ericsson.

Didn't think of it that way yet, but 6 of 20 leaving is a lot.

Every year I completely forget there's a runoff area that goes under a grandstand that was touted as a "unique feature" of this track, and every year I'm completely not reminded it exists because no-one has ever used it

I think I remember one semi-serious GT crash there and that's about it

You mean this one?

Didn't she break her legs in that crash? I think that's a very serious crash.
