Actually most part of the joke was meant to be laughing with political correct people who feel the need to be offended in other peoples place. So actually I was laughing with you

It has nothing to do with political correct people who are offended in others people place.
Her skin condition is well known.
Sadly only oblivious people feel the need to make what they call jokes of it with some strange excuse.

I do Not think you are racist or something, however you sound unknown of the/her condition and because of that reacting with unnecessary comments which people who have knowlege of it will ofcourse react to.
So now you know she and many more people of color can suffer of this condition there is no need or purpose to joke around on a public place.
Oh btw i have vitiligo to and im not offended or something

Lets talk about racing and the organisers who better can sort these waving the to early error's out.
Because now the focus is to much on the celeb instead of the amateurish fault behind it.

The amount of scorn she's received for someone else's mistake is one thing, then you add people making it personal on top of that...

Not the fun day out at the races she probably expected.

But we live in an era where people attract scorn for starring in star wars and daring not to be white or male, so being told to wave a chequred flag at the wrong time is obviously a reason to hate eh?

What I don't get is how people pointing out how unnecessary and basically nasty a comment is somehow gets twisted into 'PC' and 'offended for other people'. It's actually quite natural to be offended by behaviour you aren't the target of.

(This isn't actually aimed at anyone specific, it just seems to be an automatic reaction for a lot of people when called out)

Has it been pointed out that the checkered flag mishap is a huge safety liability? Everyone has been discussing how quirky/laughable it is and how the race result could be impacted, but seriously you're literally a couple radio failures from someone pulling a Franchitti after the false finish line, then landing into a group of happy marshalls out on the run-off area waving their flags one lap too early.

It's been noticed but seems to be being brushed under the carpet atm.

Vettel mentioned it after the race too.

And the marshalls WERE waving flags in celebration as they were also instructed the race ended. This was dangerous indeed.

Charlie is looking at - and yes, this will be treated as a knee-jerk reaction - using the flag display on the s/f ganty to display a chequered flag, and also to replicate it on the steering wheel display. The idea is that the drivers will be told to trust the lights.

Doesn't seem like the worst idea; it does leave room to have a physical flag waving, but removes the ambiguity for the drivers.

It sounds silly, but maybe a white flag to signify the start of the last lap.

Again, shiny high-tech solutions to complexify a problem, instead of focusing on common sense, training and human judgment. I must be old-fashioned though because it sure is the norm nowadays (obviously talking about Charlie's proposal, not the white flag )

if the gaps are long enough in the final laps, the flag should be given at the track, like in the good old times, with the flag man doing the Glen Dix

I used to get freaking scared of the chequred flag guy in places like Monza or Mexico standing right next to pretty much the racing line.

Imagine a finish like Baku 2017 with a guy standing 2ft from Stroll/Bottas?

White flag is a great idea. Wonder why no series has ever done this?

Anyway, it's a sad state of affairs in F1 when this is the biggest talking point from a race.
