If/when they buy a seat, does it have to happen today or can it happen after qualifying?

For some added salt in the wound, Wickens has gone to the top of today's NTB with a 228.3.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I personally hope someone getting bought out just so that Hinch does race DOESN'T happen. We all know what happened to RHR when Junky was bought out just so that he could race.

The possibility is definitely getting wild with speculation, that's for sure.

Rumours spreading that Coyne will accept a sack of maple-scented dollars in return for Hinch in the #17.

Daly may also be offered a medley of races later this year in return for stepping aside (source is Pruett's podcast).

Missed most of the drama yesterday, but I'll add my two cents:

Everyone has bitched and moaned about Bump Day being a formality for fucking years because they're grasping at straws to get a full field, and then when Bump Day actually means something and has a little bit of drama, everyone is bitching and moaning because a big name driver missed the race. On top of that, some people want him to buy his way into the race? Fuck off. Everyone played buy the same rules and had the same opportunity to make the field, bumping a guy out of his ride who actually earned it is a bitch move and I'll have zero respect for Hinch and all parties involved if that happens.

Exactly. Don't blame the other drivers as they have every right. If anything, blame the rules.

Hinch simply got the short end of it since he was the first one out after the first rain delay and didn't really get an opportunity to get another chance. Simple as that.

Miller on Hinch's options; https://racer.com/2018/05/20/hinchcliff ... s-dwindle/

The tl;dr is that most of the candidates have said their ride is not for sale and Coyne is saying he wants $2,000,000 for Daly's seat.

My only complaint about yesterday is the ABC-enforced 5:50 session cutoff. Everything else was fully legit.

ABC should put him in the booth. He's a great personality, and their dumb asses are slightly responsible for putting him in his predicament. And I'm tired of listening to Scott Goodyear. Maybe he can drown him out.

Good.

Hinchcliffe is one of my favorite drivers, and I'm disappointed that he's not in the race, but he didn't qualify. He wasn't fast enough. He has no business racing next Sunday.

That's a great idea.
