But you could've won!

You could've turned up in a rental car and be running 6th right now.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

If they put any more sand on the track Trump would call for a travel ban to/from Daytona. :tumble:

Self wins by virtue of having the only car that isn't a bag of bits. Why did I wait an hour for that

Funny. I tuned out about an hour ago when the 23 crashed because I thought the race had finished. Didn’t expect to come back an hour later to see the chequered flag!

They could've just flagged it after the last wreck.

Largest margin of victory at Daytona for ARCA since the implementation of the restrictor plate. LOL

This package finally created the ability to get runs and make passes, really happy to see that. Not happy to see the way it was utilized.

I feel like this is largely a product of ARCA only allowing 6 cars to draft at a time in practice and testing. Go out there and tear your shit up in practice a couple times and you'll learn. Can't keep having these kids learn from there mistakes in the race. I know you have to mess up sometimes to learn but take into consideration the platform you use.

Actually I'm more than ok with them tearing up their shit when the cameras are on and not in a media black hole

That last restart felt like a race from the 80s, 1 car just driving away and not much else happening behind, but the commentators still hyping up the finish anyway.

Oh well, the 1 hour highlights of this race must be damn exciting :P

The young guys spend the first 2/3rds of the race glued to the yellow line since they don't have drafting experience, so they don't learn anything then either. They definitely need more practice in actual pack drafting conditions before the race.

While I think more drafting practice / more cars in the packs for practice would help on the ARCA side of things. Looking at all things however, there's always going to be that chance of stupid accidents. Especially with how much blocking there has been in recent years. I just hope the rest of the week goes off clean & safe.

While I hope for this as well, I don't expect. Not clean anyway. The last handful of years they've hauled A LOT of junk out of Daytona in every division. No one has gotten any smarter so I expect nothing will be different.

As long as you have to make deliberate contact (as in, bump draft/push) to go fast and win in cars setup as free as possible, you're going to have wrecks. Don't think any amount of practice is going to change that.

So last nigjt, I stopped at a Subway with the wife to grab and go. They had the race in the TV. Under caution with 13 to go. We left, stopped by another 2 stores, got home, turned on the DVR, fast forwarded thru the race and still hit the race live before the last restart. ARCA timing as fuck.
