I would love to see a street race around Montjuïc in Barcelona. That track sounded great.

I watched the McLaren documentary on the flight back from America. Well worth a watch, IMO.

As previuosly mentioned here, if you get the chance to watch the Williams documentary on Netflix, do. It is not a fluff piece that is for sure. Due to his bloody mindlessness Frank Williams sure wouldn't win any father of the year awards.

It is pretty confronting and contains a gem of a quote.

Interviewer: "Nelson thinks there was a bias towards Nigel because he was British".
Frank Dernie: "I think that is not true, there could have been, but Nigel was such an arse that it was very difficult to have an actual bias to him".

And this..."He (Mansell) was whinging on the radio and Patrick Head said on the radio "For fucks sake stop whinging Nigel" and turned his radio off" :D :D

I watched this earlier. It's worth it just for Dave Brodie, tbh.

I didn't liked either but I'm more into the sport, not by the personal affairs of F1 people

but is interesting to see how a man went from lower classes into the most advanced racing team of all time (back in early 90's obviously)

I loved the Williams documentary exactly because they focused on the people behind the team. It pays a fair tribute to Ginnie Williams as someone who as crucial for the success of the team just like Frank. And also, it surprised me how deep they went into the family affairs, like the dispute between Claire and the brother to see who would succeed their father as the Team Principal.

I might get an early glimpse of a 2018 car. Can't say anything more, but I might say whether it's :) or :yuk: looking!

I can’t imagine so. McLaren won’t be seeing any sponsorship revenue, it’s a technical partnership aka McLaren receiving free Dell equipment.

And anyway, I would have thought McLaren was looking for reliable equipment after the Honda debacle. Dell gear is bulky, slow, bloated and prone to breaking down.

I had to laugh at the irony of it too.

I watched the McLaren series on Amazon Prime last night. Thought it was good, not amazing. It could / should have been longer to cover the entire season. The name of the show was confusing and misleading considering there was barely any focus on the drivers. I did like the juxtaposition toward the end of the final show, when Alonso was being interviewed about the engine situation at his kart track, with the Renault banner hanging nicely in shot in the background.

if only the halo was the only ugly thing in the car, but the problem is deeper that a g string on the cockpit, the complex front wings, false width of the cars, the lack of good liveries, all that kill the looks

If the font is anything to go by, Red Bull have decided what tiny aspect of their livery to tweak for this year

Recap of all confirmed car launches for people like me who are getting out of hibernation period. (I can't get the columns to align using the tab key and the "code" tag, can you? Anyway it's good enough). Source the f1 official site
Code:
Williams FW41 (Mercedes)   February 15    London, UK
Red Bull RB14 (TAG Heuer)   February 19    TBC
Sauber C37 (Ferrari)      February 20    Online
Renault R.S.18 (Renault)   February 20    Online
Ferrari TBC (Ferrari)      February 22    Online
Mercedes W09 (Mercedes)   February 22    Silverstone, UK
McLaren MCL33 (Renault)   February 23    TBC
Toro Rosso STR13 (Honda)   February 26    Barcelona, Spain

It's getting close folks, sharpen your ceremony knives and get your pitchforks from the shed, and don't forget the chant: "Fuck HALO!"

I'm excited, can't wait to start bitching about everything that's wrong about F1 car design.
